Mate, another great video. It brings back allot of memories of the laughs and beer we drank on our trip on the bkes up to the Cape.

Good work, it’s the tough days that you’ll remember

Did the Cape in 2009 with couple of other guys and a backup vehicle. I rode my 06 525EXC, had a 08 CRF 450 and 3rd bike was a CR500RE!!

Mate that was the worst sand ever. Heaps harder than the Simpson I reckon. We survived though lol.

Starcke was the hardest day for me on that trip. Reckon I fell off five times in the sand, and I wasn’t even loaded up like you were. Great effort!
@The_Apprentice_Adventurer Жыл бұрын
Yeah it was tough going with the gear on. Mostly because you can’t move your body around the bike very well. Good effort to anyone who comes out alive lol.

@@The_Apprentice_Adventurer definitely felt like I wasn’t going to make it. Easy for the jockeys that can stand up comfortably on the DRZ (not me 😂)

Living the dream man. Yeah the tent pegs are a issue but just sit back and look where you are, what your doing, and it’s only a blip in the adventure

Loved this episode, sorry to admit I laughed quite a few times at your expense. Just keep telling yourself you always will remember the times you overcame adversity compared to taking the easy route. You def. nailed the diff thoughts that go through your head riding alone vs with someone else, cant wait for the next episode. You need to come over here to WA sometime, we have sand and the dreaded pea gravel.
@The_Apprentice_Adventurer Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. Don’t worry I laugh at myself to lol. Absolutely the hardest and crappy moments are the most memorable for sure. WA is on the cards. Just not soon sadly. I’ll get there though. One day.

Well done! will be there September 23. Any response on length / duration / frequency of the sand components will be much appreciated.

Hey mate. The sand sections are spread over about 60kms worth of track which starts as soon as you hit the non maintained section. You’ll know when you get there. From there the sand just come a goes throughout the whole stretch. Some easy and some super hard sections depending on your skills set of course. If your riding unloaded you’ll be sweet. If loaded….well I guess just see how you go. Definitely one of those tracks that could stuff your clutch if you don’t know how to ride sand FYI. 👍

@@The_Apprentice_Adventurer awesome reply mate. Watching yours n joshes vids, keep em coming. Yep we are going supported so as to keep loading to a minimum. Will be a laugh if we have to turnaround. My vids will be posted October 😉

great job mate! I'm heading on the same trip in about 4 weeks. what time of day did u hit the starcke track? wanna know if i can do the whole track in 1 day. cheers!
@The_Apprentice_Adventurer Жыл бұрын
Awesome. Good luck mate. We hit the start of the dirt about 11am and hit the hard stuff about 12.30pm if memory serves me correctly. Definitely doable in a day. If you get to where we camped with an hour of daylight keep going to Kalpowar river campground, that will be better than where we camped. Easy ride to.

Lance, please don't fill your water container from creeks etc, unfortunately it too likely to have some contamination in it. Or at least carry purification tablets or filtering device.
