As an English teacher myself, the main reason teachers don’t use time off when they are sick is because it causes lots of issues with scheduled classes and makes a mess for all the other teachers. Us English teachers taking time off doesn’t cause really many issues at all.
I'm so glad I could understand 90% of the video 😍😍 I still need 日本語の字幕 to read at the same time as I listen, but for sure your listening videos are very easy to understand and I am confident if I self discipline myself for the next few weeks I will understand your videos without subtitles 😍😍💕💕💕

Even though I don’t understand every thing she’s saying, I can still infer what she’s talking about, like when she was mentioning (I assume) a conversation she was having, and I feel like is actually pretty helpful for people trying to learn Japanese!
Indonesia only have 12 days leave as average, but of course not every company same. And even like that I heard that it is hard to take it because they will always say who will do the job if you are taking a leave. So when I enter the company first time. After 1 month, my senior said don't be an Einstein, act and work as you are a dumb so nobody don't mind if you are taking a leave.

Thank you for the explanation. Still have a question on the paid day-off. In the US, we have holidays (usually 11 to 15 days per year) plus paid vacation (depending on the company, say, 15 days a year). So the total paid time-off is 11+15 = 26 days. Does your 20 paid day-offs include both or just the paid vacation?
It’s kinda sad to hear a Japanese who hasn’t had not much working experience talking bad things about working experience in your home country. I would say everything has both sides. As a foreigner who’s working in jp, I understand why Jp is still a good destination for those who want to have stable jobs with decent income. U can tell that working styles in aus or in other western countries are more flexible with better welfare systems, but u also need to consider their high living costs there, esp the quality of healthcare systems there. Working in a capitalism country will never be an easy task. Not everyone can make through to working in Northern Europe where work-life balance is the best of the world. Jp is still a good place in many ways.

Bekerja di pabrik Jepang sebenarnya biasa saja....yang buat stres itu peraturan dari atasan pabrik yang tidak manusiawi...itulah yang membuat muak bekerja di perusahaan jepang
My company gives 18 days of vacation in a year for your first year of employment, and increases 1 day a year until 25 days. This includes sick days as well. Japan, however, has 18 national holidays. My company only recognizes 12 national holidays.

I was on JET program before but we had 20 days annual leave and we got sick leave. But I guess it depends on the board of Education you are placed with.
