Great inspirational video. It's nice to hear someone love and appreciate their collection rather than feeling guilty and talk about how many they have to get rid of. I, too, have a collection I love that needs constant "supervision" to keep it in order. I love all my decks and wouldn't think of getting rid of any of them. Who knows what the future holds but for now I love my collection without guilt and display them proudly. 🙂

Big job Simon! They look great. I think I told you before when I first started watching you I thought you were filming in a shop. Lol! I had pretty much the same problem with my collection. 90 odd decks crammed on 2 shelves. I couldn't see anything. I then moved about a third of them to the back of the wardrobe. But what a waste of the ones in the wardrobe! So I got a CD shelf 2nd hand and it's now in my bedroom with the ones not on display in the living room. Ironically I actually am using the ones in the bedroom MORE as the shelf is in such an accessible location! Looking at the boxes on my shelf and seeing the collection brings me pleasure.

Hello Simon.. It has been a while, but I have a moment to catch up on a few channels. The biggest decluttering was my house move from the mountains and downsizing to what was coming with me and what was going to remain in storage. I took all my tarot decks (under 25 decks) with me as I could't bare them being enclosed boxes, etc. The decks are like *spiritual family* to me and I couldn't leave them behind. Where I am currently residing, my only challenge with reorganizing my decks, tools, books, etc. was to accommodate space for these things. I normally had all of my decks, tools, etc. on my large reading table, but with no access to my reading table everything is now placed in large bookcase. Not my ideal way to hold all my metaphysical workings, since I also had to reduce my multiple altars down to one. Regardless, I'm grateful to have space to place these important items. Looks like you are managing your space very well with what you have... until 2024, right? ;)

Do you want my two cents on decluttering? I'm decluttering and downsizing all of my belongings for the 3rd or 4th time since becoming an adult (and I'm only 26!), and I think I've learned a few things. I'm now decluttering in order to fit my belongings into a small caravan camper. What helps me more than anything is 1) to hold each item in my hands and be mindful about how it makes me feel ("does it spark joy?"), but more importantly 2) I have changed the language I use about decluttering. I no longer say or think that I am "getting RID OF" things. Rather I say/think that I am *letting them go* and *finding them new homes.* Somehow this change in language also changes my mindset and I just feel better about the entire process. I'm a Scorpio and I am yet again transforming myself; letting go of things from the past is part of that process. Anyways, these are just my thoughts :)

Hi Simon, it looks so nice! But I think it always does. It’s funny, I’ve been decluttering too. Mine is more stuff I’ve saved forever. It’s amazing how attached we get to things and the memories they provoke. I’ve been watching a lot of KZbin decluttering videos and it helps. I keep trying to remember, I can keep whatever I want, I just can’t keep everything! 🤣 Realizing, our container is to “contain” we have to have limits. From our home, to a room, to a shelf. If I don’t have room something else must go. It’s emotionally exhausting. Be kind to yourself and little by little you’ll get there. When you’re at your max, try the one in one out rule. 🤷♀️ Always thinking of you with love Dear. 💜💜💜

Simon, WOOHOOO! That's great! It's a crap-ton of work. Especially clearing everything off the shelves in the spare room to start with - UGH. I remember you last week or a couple of weeks ago, and you were in a live and looking for some deck and you couldn't find it. You could tell it bugged the hell out of you because you went back into the shelves a couple of more times to try finding it. No joy. I remember thinking "Oooh, Simon's about ready to get after those shelves." You're right, it can't be boxed up and put away. Your collection isn't just used for yourself. It's used by the community for comparisons and examples of how one deck is different or similar to another deck. The artwork in one is similar or dissimilar to another, we're NERDS Simon! We have to see these things and ponder their significance! You and your collection are a resource for everyone. You can't use 700 decks all at once but you need them to be accessible. So this is fantastic and now that you can see everything, you'll do more. Bit by bit, as you work with your newly opened up shelves, you'll see them take shape. You'll take more stuff into the shelves in the spare room, maybe just a few at a time as they occur to you. It's a huge upheaval in your collection and living space, it will take time to settle. You may be covered with dust and exhausted right now but I'll bet anything that you can breathe better in your house and think more clearly at your desk now. I recommend a smallish magic chocolate bunny egg or a somewhat larger chocolate me-ducks egg! 🐰🦆 Didn't you walk about a million miles last week? Maybe just put the chocolate on your poor feet!

Yep. I try to go by: if/when I bring something in then something else has to go out. Problem is, I have LOTS of stuff to go which is where I'm at now, shelf clearing and no-buy til that's done

Every time I re-organise my shelves, I feel like I turn around and they are somehow full again. I don’t know how I manage it, but it’s every time like that. It takes a month at the longest and I could begin again 😂

Oh my word! 700 decks! That is an amazing tarot collection! It looks like our book collection. I have so many books that I don’t have any place to display my decks. You are inspiring me to do some cleanup, decluttering and reorganizing. I love the skeleton meditating yogi!

Way to go Simon! I'd love to see a before and after picture. You didn't show us the finished shelf in one image!!! You must have felt buried for the week. Getting to the spare room catchall clutter spaces and organizing is epic. Otherwise, we forget what we even have! Enjoy the freshness!

Hi Simon: I listened to you try to sort out the extra room shelf and it could have been me speaking. Can't give away this, can't give away that, and on and on. I'm in the middle of my reorganization and I get so far and have to leave it cause I get too tired and anxious. And a few days or weeks later, I dive in again. What a situation we get ourselves into when we get all the decks we want! Yikes. My condolences and encouragement. We'll get through this!

Loved this video! If you're still not happy maybe you need to change the style of shelving unit to maximise the space? I have a big crystal collection and I lose a lot of height space where I could put crystals.

I have a question that I'd love Simon and anyone else who wishes to answer. I've only gotten into oracles, tarot and runes about a year ago this month. I've found I'm more of a rune and oracle person. I like finding things that vary a lot from each other depending on what I need. I've been curious for all the different tarot decks: What is it that draws you to multiple decks of tarot? Is it the guidebooks and the different interpretations/insights they give? Do you work more intuitively and focus more on the artwork? I have two tarot decks. One I use more like an oracle and the other I rarely touch. Since I have those, I haven't felt compelled to get more like I do looking at different oracles due to the more structured feel of tarot. I am just genuinely wanting to learn more about the interest in different types of tarot and what you personally gain from it. I realize the question will have different answers depending on the individuals. Thanks to all who answer! :)

For me it’s tapping into an ancient system, and I love all the different variations that are available. Particularly for working with different decks for different aspects.

Hi Simon, You are always talking to us about you're struggles with letting things go so doing this was a big achievement for you. Luckily i dont collect anything or hoard anything so i wouldn't know how hard this was for you. You did it though which is a big deal. As with everything in life if we tackle things little by little over time things do improve and seem less daunting. I really enjoyed watching this video as i find it fascinating with how people cope with lots of treasured items. Just a quick question, are you're decks insured ?? i mean there is thousands of pounds worth of treasure there. Great advice on being more mindful when purchasing new decks. This will apply more most things in life. Just be more mindful. Great video. Have a good week.
