I have a question though. I have a 1988 Chrysler conquest and the ignition is trashed. I just want to put a toggle switch in place of the key and then hook up a push button start. I e looked at the circuit diagrams and I can't figure it with all the inhibitor switches and all that stuff...I'm not sure if something's not messed up in the fusible links and the signal wire for my starter isn't getting power...I really don't know...I can work on mechanical stuff all day but electrical stuff is super tough
@TheAbJGarage2 жыл бұрын
Dear! Start from the starter motor and follow the line back to the cabin. That line should be given battery voltage for the starter to function.

Hello, I have a question, I have in the car a Water tamreture clock, which one I can choese red or green? THANKS A LOT
Hi bro ! My key switch has a voltmeter , i want to test the ignition key. My key switch has 3 wires ; Red Black Green! If I want to test for continuity where do I place the red and black prones from my voltmeter to the switch. I was doing black on black , red on black and turning key on.

❤Wow nice, but what I do if I have 6 pins and the new ignition have just 4 🥺?
@TheAbJGarage4 ай бұрын
You better identify the pins first to see their connectivity. Some of the pins might be repeated pairs. Some ignition switches have two IG terminal and two BATTERY terminals. If the terminals are not repeated, you can find which one best suits from the 4 terminals that are available on new ignition switches.

Why does the auxiliary come first before the off position seems wrong, it should come first. the off position and next auxiliary. because if you remove the key still working the auxiliary.
@TheAbJGarage4 ай бұрын
Yes! Some ignition keys have auxiliary before off. You can confirm this by checking for continuity. There is no continuity on OFF position, and also remember that on some keys, the ignition key can be removed from the cylinder both on OFF and Accessory position. On those cars you can still listen to the radio, with the key removed to open the fuel tank!

my car dont have 2 ignation wire like ignation 1 and 2 . but i want install a stop start kit which one has that 2 wire . what can i do ? anyone help me ?
@dreamfixtechnologies54882 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your explanation. please where is the off position connected?
@TheAbJGarage2 жыл бұрын
Dear! Thank you very much for commenting on our video. And to answer your question, OFF is actually a key position where battery power to all electrical loads is disconnected. Off is therefore not a terminal to be connected. The common terminals we have on ignition switch are: Battery, accessory, ignition, and start. The different ignition key positions are: OFF, ACC, ON, and ST.

What about the last terminal on the key. ?
@TheAbJGarage2 жыл бұрын
Dear!! Thank you for your visit! Regarding the additional terminal on the ignition key, it is actually a repeated terminal from the four terminals. Some ignition keys have more than one ig terminal or battery terminal. On some ignition keys however, there are additional terminals for glow plug operation which is spring loaded just like the start terminals. but it is operated in opposite direction to the start position, i.e. counter clockwise from the off position.

What of ground(negative)
@TheAbJGarage10 ай бұрын
The negative is not brought to the ignition switch. It rather goes to the other side of the electrical loads, ignition switch controls the positive or power supply side. It distributes battery positive power to the different circuits.

Thanks so much for the Video. Here is a Stupid question for you....When you are using your Voltmeter for checking the Continuity, where does the Electricity come From...that goes through the Wires? I have a Volt Meter but..have really no idea how to use it! LOL Is it the Voltmeter and its Nine Volt Battery, that is putting the electricity through the Wires? Second question...Why do they have to have those Stupid Symbols, on the Voltmeters......why not make them IDIOT Proof...and just right Continuity on the Voltmeter Gauge, instead of those Symbols that are Hard to even SEE. Grrrrrrrr Besides that......Great job on the Video! Cheers
