My wife is light-skinned. I remember when I first introduced her to my family my dad and my uncle asked me if I would be able to afford to live with her. To them, a light-skinned woman has a higher financial demand, and with my humble background, they don't think she can live with me. With been married for years. And she's been the best thing that's ever happened to me. Unfortunately, that's the misconception out there.

These men in Ghana are afraid of the headache that come with a beautiful light skin women. They think she is expensive and will have too many suitors. I would like this experiment in a more formal setting with men that a more well off. If there was a hip spot, they both can go and do the experimemt for men and women. I think in a different setting more men might come up to say they prefer the light skin,( or not) as the shorter dark chocolate is always gonna be a fan favorite. That said that this experiment was successful to show that the people like their dark skin, it's the medias that push the manipulation agenda that causes some to not be happy in their skin. I love my dark chocolate and like Buju said love my browning. As long as we put up the value of the african in us.. My choice was the shorter lady with the glasses. 😍

It's very telling how despite their choice of the darker-skinned girls, there's a higher normative value and even monetary value placed on lighter skin. The idea that lighter skinned women are more expensive to take care of and have too many suitors; which will be difficult to deal with. Didn't find those statements funny , cute or a compliment at all. As if darker skinned women aren't deserving or wouldn't enjoy nice things or have high standards when it comes to maintenance. Even though most of them picked the darker skinned ladies it still reeked of colourism.

I have to agree sadly. I wanted one guy to say I can’t choose because I don’t know them. Anyone of the ladies could be high maintenance you can’t judge that by color. I love my chocolate men and yet I’m with a very light skin man now because I got to know him color wasn’t an issue.

Oh my Gosh! It is so sad to watch. So then, these men truly believe the darker skin woman deserve a hard life and they do not aspire for the finer things in life. So dark skin women for them do not deserve luxury, even the minimum amount of comfort. Sad!

If you ask me, the men here are being honest. The results would have been different if the interview setting was at a middle class or rich background. It is not that they do not see dark skin women with value, but it is just what they experience that informs their decision. Generally, these men understand that most men will prefer fair skin girls (and in this case, Anna looks biracial) so for them, to be on a safer side and not have to deal with having a woman with many suitors and competition, which of course is money, they will rather choose dark skin women. Also, do not take this too personal, this is only an experiment and only a few men were interviewed. This result cannot be said to be the preference for most Ghanaian men since the men who were interviewed do not come from diverse background.

❤❤❤this proves that the girl with the highest score is the winner... I also would have chosen her...if i were to be ask....her color and shape is beautiful...not saying the other ladies aint beautiful...but majority carries the vote... I will suggest that she contest in a beauty queen pageant and hopefully she may be a winner.... Watching from Chicago Illinois ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
