I love Dragon Ball, but from the first gameplay videos I saw I knew Sparking Zero wasn't going to be for me. I was never the biggest fan of the Tenkaichi series and that has translated to this game. I don't like how the combat feels in this game, and their approach to the story is so weak, DBZ Kakarot was much better at both those aspects. Also, there is absolutely no need for the roster to be this big. For those who are enjoying the game, I am happy for you, we can never have too many Dragon Ball games.
@abduldavid17452 сағат бұрын
It is also not for me cause never played tenkaichi as a kid cause I started playing raging blast 2 as my first one and then played xenoverse 1 and 2, and fighters z. I liked xenoverse 2 cause of its controls and the characters and villains which you only see in dbh game which is Japanese only.
@ernimuja69912 сағат бұрын
Kakarot’s combat is so lame compared to this. This is authentic dragon ball. Maybe you’re just not at a high level to appreciate the intricacy of the combat. The story I agree.

I love this game a ton, but the online cheese strats of spamming instant sparking and unblockable supers get kinda annoying, but one thing I don’t see anyone pointing out is how the Super Counter/ Z counter being free is problematic for the game. I know a lot of people will roll their eyes and just go “skill issue” but hear me out: Having a defensive option that beats everything besides unblockable, and COSTS NOTHING allows people to play carelessly and recklessly. What’s the draw back to throwing out a grab or a super at a bad time, if once you start getting hit you can break out for free? Theres no risk. This problem could easily be solved by having it cost 1 skill point, kind of like the revenge counter. It would be slightly cheaper resource wise for being harder to pull off, but by having it cost something now you have to weigh your options before using it: Do you use a skill point for a super counter to break out of the combo to take less damage? Or do you take the full damage so you can use your skill points to transform or use your precious, busted, after image strike? Super counters being free are also annoying when you finally get past the cheese stats of after image strike, and then they break out of your combo and hit YOU with an unblockable if you don’t vanish it perfectly. It’s really frustrating. I just think such a powerful defensive mechanic needs to cost SOMETHING, regardless if it’s hard to pull off.

I love the game and think its very fun, especially the pvp aspect and playing with your friends and having those matches where you both have a scrape of health left. What I can say however, is that they should of worked much more on the story mode and put more effort into the story mode, the few scenes we do have of animated cut scenes look coolish but also hardly animated. Character dont really move or background is empty planes of nothing and most of the story are told by stills with some parts being voice over. I say story mode for this game in terms of quality is definitely a 4/10.

I have been waiting a long time for this! This game is my first time experiencing the Tenkaichi games with others at the same time since when they released I was still an infant so this game means a lot to me and it is incredible. This game would be a masterpiece in my opinion IF I COULD PLAY IT ONLINE WITH MY FRIENDS, but constant communication errors shutdown about 90% of the matches I try to have with my friends. The rest of the game is amazing. This is extra impressive considering this is the same company that made the original Budokai games. Their last 3D Arena Fighter titles were Jump Force and One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows (which were panned by critics and fans alike), so they locked tf in for this one! This bodes we'll for the next Shonen Jump title, especially since they skipped the most recent anniversary.
