I have played in bar bands for decades. You get your sound set b4 the shows and then you don’t f w it. So, yeah, the amps are ready, the mics are a go… (sound guy would of taken care of that when he saw them sneak up). You don’t walk in 4 mins b4 the show and start playing. Sound check takes time. Whoever is doing lights and sound… takes control (except for maybe a foot pedal or two) and you focus on what you do best.
@nonpungent86092 жыл бұрын
At what point do you see him sing into the extra mic, or any mic for that matter? He just goes up and stands beside the guy cause the song was ending. The other mic, amp, house drums, and whatever else being set up is pretty standard for a bar on Broadway in Nashville. They’ll have different bands playing the same covers all night, no point in tearing down after every act. If this was planned, it probably would’ve been more well executed

I lived in a small coastal town in California and the shop I worked at, we got a lot of t.v. actors and a few famous people and they each were really cool people and even took the time to talk to me and my co-workers. So for those that do not know, it's really not uncommon for larger musicians to randomly show up at honky tonks. Matter of fact, for the musicians that got to skip the honky Tonk strip of Music Row to get famous sometimes find it somewhat of a religious walk along these treats and spill some sweat the same. It is kind of a passage to make up for it, revisit roots, join the likes of cash, Willie, Waylon, Hank, patsy, Dolly, Roy, etc. Also, it's pretty much universal here that we let famous folks do their thing and we run across so many famous people all of the time. I have seen Justin Timberlake driving an old white Jetta, wearing Levi's and a champion hoodie, and just dropping off an envelope to FedEx. I've seen Garth at the dentist office in Lebanon, Johnny cash at the doctor's office in Hendersonville, Charlie Daniels at the Walgreens pharmacy and laundry mat in Lebanon, members of Aerosmith, lead singer of Cinderella at airport, Kenny Chesney at Hilton hotel lobby by himself getting a snack at 2am, even Nicole Kidman buying clothes by herself at the green hills mall. Nobody bothering her. I could tell stories about many many more.

Nashville is country but classy enough for some of the biggest stars in the world to be treated like regular people while they just live their lives. Only the tourists bother them, locals keep them grounded.

True. A lot live in Nashville, Franklin and Leipers Fork. Franklin is the hub of contemporary Christian music.

@@georgegeoffrey7334 it might be. Their biggest song (the one in this video, My Own Worst Enemy) was played multiple times per day at any roller rink, on many radio stations, every school dance, birthday parties, etc. I’ve been to three weddings in the past year and it’s been played at all three of them lol
