This was not only a spit in the face to Peter Cullen but also a big disrespect to the legacy of Larry Cullen, Peter's brother who inspired Optimus Prime's voice. No wonder why Peter always wants to voice Optimus whenever he can, because whenever he does his voice, it's essentially Peter's tribute to his late brother. These companies only wanna make a quick buck through the cheapest means. It's one thing to disrespect the fans, but disrespecting the actors, the people who made it possible for these companies to do what they're doing is on a whole nother level.

@@calebrayner4921 The other voices of Optimus Prime are fine because they're original. David Kaye, Gary Chalk, and Neil Kaplan are all great. They don't need to be the OG because they are all their own OG's; each being the start of new trends in Transformers and Optimus Prime as a character. Gary Chalk voiced Optimus Primal who served as the leader in the TF series that saved Transformers. He was also the voice of Prime throughout the UT which is what a lot of new fans grew up on. Neil Kaplan did RID which is the voice of the very first vehicular Optimus since the 90's fade. And then David Kaye voiced Optimus in Animated which is arguably the most famous TF series to date and has spawned THOUSANDS of inspired pieces of art from fans who are rattling Hasbro's cage for a resurrection and Season 4. My problem, and I think our man would agree, is that there are VA's trying to impersonate Cullen and make it "original" from the Epic Trailers Guy to Jake Foushee and it's not their fault(s). The problem is that they are operating outside of their vocal range and it doesn't work.

When the legend himself is continuously willing to voice Prime, then regardless of the budget, you should be thinking of what the fans want and that’s to bring Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime. I feel really really bad for him and this made me really angry towards Hasbro and everybody that was involved with the Bee movie and the Netflix show. I just hope that they can learn from this and hopefully they won’t make this mistake again. But money talks, and I’m afraid that it’ll happen again in the near future. Good video and I 100% agree, I do have a question for you Alfonso as I don't actually don't know either how I feel about this but when the time comes, say when Peter steps back from the roll or no longer chooses or is no longer able to voice Optimus will you still be able to connect with the character? as the voice will then have to change at that point. This question popped into my head when watching your video so thought i'd ask. Watching the Peter Cullen video it is a great shame the way Netflix past by one of the most iconic part of Prime his voice but also how Paramount behaved with Bumblebee. The other thing to note is this is no different though from Bay going with Hugo over Frank for TF 1. It is a shame that Directors and high up executives can see the connection between the original voice and its importance to the movies, the characters, and the fan base.

When I heard this news as well as the news with the Bumblebee Movie I was angry and I thought it was super unfair to Peter and his fans. Despite not being born in the 80s I absolutely love the g1 Transformers Cartoon and my favourite movie of all time is still the 1986 Transformers Movie which shaped me into the person I am now. That movie is the reason I learnt and loved the 1980s. It’s been my favourite movie for 15 years, I first watched it with my Dad when I was only 5.

There is an unspoken rule among the Voice Acting Community, If the actor is willing and able to voice the character, they should be allowed to voice the character. This pisses me off and actually makes me sad that I watched the Bee movie thinking "It's Peter Cullen sounding beautiful!". But now knowing that he was upset about doing the roll makes me sad and hurt ESPECIALLY because of the movies, I was a kid watching the movies and Peter Cullen and Optimus were made my childhood hero's, I was a little kid again flying around my Studio Series DoTM Optimus when I got it delivered and it's that feeling and that little kid in me that feels sad and hurt now. The Netflix one is borderline ass to me, to know that he WANTED to do it is just something that hurt more, granted Frank Welker wasn't Megatron but the voice and character were great, but Optimus left a bad taste in my mouth and the info I just learned about makes my tongue get the hell out of the mouth and walk away. Just like you Peter Cullen and Optimus Prime have a special place in my heart and this hurts, so if some of the things I'm saying aren't the best I'm willing to take the heat for a bit.

This video really made me mad. Siege maybe cause it was a smaller company they got cheap and didn’t wanna hire Peter Cullen. But for the Bumblebee movie?? They seriously couldn’t hire him for the stinking Bumblebee movie. I understand one day we will have to learn to get use to a new Optimus voice. But when Peter is still alive and he still wants to voice you pick him and you use him as much as you can.

Hey, don't hold back on what you think about what the studio did, they are selfish bastards who think they can replace peter Cullen who is trying to still wanna voice optimus, he won't be alive forever, and the studio is selfish, peter IS optimus, but the studio acts like Everyone can be replaced, the fans need Pete, they need him to voice the legend, this hurt me so much, and I get the budget, but behind the scenes, they could pay him, so really the are assholes for acting like they can replace him, and how peter did it after his past brother and how everyone imitated him disrespectfuly gets me mad as flip, Jon Baily sounds crappy so how they disrespect peter Cullen is absolutely unacceptable, I love this vid on not holding back what you think, it's fine I'm glad you made this rant video, so great vid Alfonso, like all of them, keep up the great work!

Yea, the guy who voiced Optimus Prime in Cyberverse, Jake Foushee is also the WFC Optimus, and Jon Bailey who was gonna Voice Prime in Bee, but instead got Cullen.

Though I maybe late to the party. But I thank you Alfonso for standing up for Peter Cullen. I myself like you am a longtime transformers fan and to have Peter Cullen disrespected by Paramount, Rooster Teeth, and Netflix is infuriating.
