Sayyiduna Abu Hatim Al-Muzani (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said: “If someone approaches you (with a proposal) and his religion (piety) and character is pleasing to you, then get him married. If you do not do so, there will be trials (fitnah) and chaos (fasad) on the earth…” (Sunan Tirmidhi, hadith: 1085) Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared this one as sound (hasan gharib) Commentary The meaning of ‘there will be chaos on earth’ is that this will lead to the spread of immorality, zina etc. There will also be an imbalance in society, since many individuals will be unmarried. (Faydul Qadir, hadith: 347) And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
