Where I am in Norwich as kid growing up in the 80's. I will always remember that an Everton fan painted Everton in big letters on a wall near Carrow Road. It was in plain sight if you went into Norwich on one of the main roads into the city. It was there for about 10 or 15 years until someone got rid of it. Whenever I used to go into Norwich I would always see it, you couldn't miss it!

Billy Liverpool pubs were fantastic back in the day. The kids of today will never experience the culture of Liverpool pubs because governments and councils destroyed them they were great times. London road was a fantastic dinking place and the people were great but now immigrants have destroyed London road

I moved to Liverpool two years ago and I’ve lived in Anfield around a year. The area clearly needs some money pumping into it as there’s too many abandoned and derelict buildings about but I love living here, the location is brilliant. Short walk into town, Anfield stadium on the doorstep (great for gigs but I’m not a Liverpool fan), Newsam park and Stanley park on the doorstep too. Most people who live by me all go to work and pay their way and they’d do anything for you. It’s a shame that the same doesn’t reflect when you drive through Anfield and just see it with the eye. It’s in desperate need of some TLC for sure.

So, so sad the way Breck Road and its area has gone. Was always rough but good people on the whole. Great drinking sessions over the years but now a ghetto for the hopeless. However ! Houses don’t wreck themselves and neighbourhood’s don’t wreck themselves accordingly. Because of this most of the businesses have gone and will never return. It’s great the banter and genuine warmth Billy has for the downtrodden and hopeless and the dialogue is warm on both parts: THIS ALWAYS COMES THROUGH ! Any story whereby someone is able to break out of the cycle is encouraging but it’s their legacy which has created these wastelands unfortunately. If drugs were legalised then the majority of neighbourhoods would be more stable and accessible for those wishing to live in the area. But very good, some great one liners and some poor lost souls within every podcast. Keep it up and remember don’t look down upon anyone unless you’re helping them up. Great post as usual 👏👏👏👏👏👏

Its very sad. From speaking to Landlords of rental flats in the past i think its to do with the cost of bringing these old buildings up to todays standards, fire regulations, planning permission to alter listed buildings is too much hassle etc so they are just left to rot and they would rather invest in new builds where everything is modern like plumbing and insulation and much more profitable for them.

Its sad to see so many pubs shut but unfortunately the expensive price of beer, staff wages, bills etc has ruined the business and made it very hard for landlords to make a profit. Plus less people want to go in them theyd rather drink at home, watch a film and get a takeaway etc. Sad but times have changed. And Bill i think the grey boarded up building at the bottom of mere lane with the phone masts on the roof was a snooker club back in the day, not 100% sure though.. cheers for another good video anyway!
