From what I can tell, Sultan's ridiculously smart even when he doesn't know it, and Illy's really good at acting. She didn't have any big brain moments, but she panicked convincingly and defended others without going too far despite being a Maafia.

I dont know. I feel like in the last voting round it should been pretty obvious who's mafia. With 4 people left there's only 1 mafia, and if you vote the wrong person then the game is over. So as a villigar you basically dont want to vote there. Illy was the first one to throw out blame, and then when she her character took a complete 180 once she realised she achieved her goal of starting chaos to subvert as much blame off of her as possible.

Oh 100% definitely! This may sound weird, but I just want to pat her head and say “good job, girl” because she barely said anything that could cast suspicion on her. She used the classic victim/crocodile tears act at the very end and it WORKED. But I think maybe everybody was too mentally deep in the theory that the mafia was someone different from the previous. But that’s just my guess.

Can we all take a minute to appreciate the brilliance in all of Illy's picks. Whether by accident or design, all of the targets in the night were not only strategically sound, but thematically perfect. * Sultan is the obvious pick for a first target given that he not only took down the Maafia last round, he managed to link two Maafia together by sheer chance, meaning that he basically handicapped them from the start. While it probably didn't require a lot of discussion, I imagine Illy pretty much told Laddi and Andy "Guys, we need Sultan obliterated YESTERDAY!" * With Rea, it seemed like she was headed to taking Sultan's place as the lead detective after Sultan's obliteration. She seemed to have picked up a bit of his weird sixth sense for the game with how she managed to describe the exact scenario of Laddi and Andy both being linked Maafia. And given that James and Rush were just out for blood, PJ just kind of rolled over and died and Emily would prove to be so useless without her previous Wizard powers as to pick someone who can't even speak for themselves, Rea was most likely going to be the one to find Illy if she had survived the round. * Finally, there's Emily. Now, this is a one-two punch as while Emily clearly didn't gain Sultan's uncanny accusatory skills, she, like Rea, did gain a knack for figuring out what was going on and called that a former Maafia from round one was back. As for the second punch, her blindly accusing Alex for a whole turn created a perfect opening for Illy to sow the seed of distrust in Alex. The fact that the only ones left were James (overconfidently wrong) and Rush (who seemed to be out for his own obliteration) made this seed blossom into a beautiful flower of chaos while she got to sit back, watch the fireworks, and kill Rush on the last night. Now, that's all the strategy, but as for the thematically perfect part I said at the top? Well, let's go back to the first game of Maafia. At the final round, Illy and Sultan were nominated and the score ended with two votes for Sultan (Illy and Laddi) and three for Illy. Those three votes? Sultan, Rea and Emily. All of Illy's targets were players that voted her off last game and this game saw her, one by one, obliterate all of them. She got her revenge and took down a whole town while she was it.

I feel like the best strategy would be to immediately accuse one of your fellow members as mafia. if they get voted off, you’ll be seen as very very trustworthy, and if they don’t get voted off and somebody else dies, you can’t be eliminated. and in the morning when you are not dead, you can pull the “if I was dead they would look even more guilty” card and eliminate them that way. make yourself the person with the sixth sense so that people trust you

PJ accidentally gives away their role in the first round by saying, “EVERYONE but the doctor picked sultan.” As they picked sultan as the wizard but the group only knows that the mafia and friendzone martian picked sultan.
