I think actually merging the stories and universes could be a really interesting way to honor the work of Akira Toriyama and his impact, by merging his own universe and one of the earliest shonnens inspired by his work.

One possible idea for the ultimate sharingan (US) could be based on the concept of neuroplasticity and low latent inhibition and is therefore a technique/dojutsu which is just as difficult to tap into and maintain as every previous time. There was a phrase Mike Tyson used to describe Muhammad Ali, "everything he did was concentration, not muscle memory". I think Sasuke should have a flash of insight where he realises that all this time, he had merely been accepting the input of the sharingan from a dissociated view, as if he were sat at the back of a cinema watching a movie instead of truly embracing it with conscious concentration. As sasuke, with almost an OCD-like concentration, silences the inner voices' sneaky attempts to revert back to lazy passivity, amidst the agitation he finds a new power on a whole new frequency. Something that would also be interesting is if you continued from the idea of Sasuke learning the 8 inner gates parallel to this evolution since one of the benefits for accessing this sharingan variation would be that in exchange for the mental toil, sasuke would get a transient boost in chakra so instead of using his own chakra for the gates, he can use this new found chakra and unlock a form - true ultimate sharingan (TUS). Of course, sasuke shouldn't unlock either of these components immediately, I think it should be a journey and his eventual attainment of this power should be showcased in gradual incrimental increases in strength until he finally fully unlocks this power. abilities: ->increased visual perception ->increased chakra and highly increased physical attributes ->new susanoo form and maybe new susanoo weapon (lightning based sword of nunoboku?)... (only accessible with TUS) ->new abilities (i don't exactly know what, maybe you can have it so that he can manifest the most useful mangekyo abilities of all mangekyo abilities previously unlocked by uchiha descendants in the given situation... i'm not particularly fond of this though) cost: ->highly agitating mentally ->extremely draining physically (only for TUS) Sidenote: It would be cool if sasuke still learnt kirin because i feel like that's just part of his character now, it'll also be cool if he learnt flying raijin from minato so that the idea that jutsu are just chakra centres covered in chakra nature is explored since you can use those chakra centres as a medium for flying raijin. Another thing is if Naruto learnt toad sage mode but due to who he is, he unlocks his abliity to access wood sage arts and therefore combines the two to form an even stronger wood toad sage mode. The counter to the susanoo could be a mechanised version of the thousand armed buddha statue through the asura path.

I'd honestly like to see a sort of redux of "what if Shisui didnt die" with a bit of a twist. Sort of "what if Danzo was blamed by Shisui and Itachi for the nine tails attack." Since he was taking Sharingan he'd have the ability to put the 9 tails under genjutsu, and his pushing away of the Uchiha clan during the attack could be seen under a different light if him having Sharingan was a known factor. If he was pushing all of this blame onto the Uchiha while also having at least one sharingan himself, he could be seen as a potential suspect due to his actions during the attack, and I'm sure even Hiruzen would be willing to believe Itachi and Shisui that it was a possibility. Let's say Hiruzen hears this and asks for a meeting with Fugaku. Hiruzen's emotionally weak, and bringing this up, as well as explaining why the Uchiha were being treated so harshly after the nine tails attack personally, would make sense. The coup might be close to a breaking point but I personally think that this talk would diffuse the situation in order for them to fight the greater evil in Danzo. If that happened and Danzo having so many sharingan implanted in him came out, it wouldn't be entirely a happy ending either. I could very easily see a portion of the uchiha, particularly some of those who wanted the coup and their families, choosing to leave Konoha if one of the elders was doing this and blaming them for an attack that was believed to be his false flag operation, even if the clan head was now more fiercely loyal to the village. From there a lot could take place. Maybe Hiruzen would give up the seat to Fugaku. Maybe the capture/execution of Orochimaru would be successful. Who knows but whoever dreamt this up in the infinite tsukiyomi.
