He sure had one of the most jarring falls from grace ever put to a current gen anime/manga. When from idealistic hero wanting freedom while saving his friends and humanity to a broken jaded shell turning to vengeance and full on genocide. Mikasa finishing him was symbolic, she protected and loved him thus sparing him from sinking deeper, and he already dug quite the hole.

I'm just so depressed now...I only started watching Attack on Titan two years ago and I am emotionally drained...this is just too much to take in...like the guy we were all rooting for is dead and I feel like somebody just slapped me in the face I understand that the ending was supposed to be poetic and meant to describe that war and peace are both human nature, none absolute only opposing but it seems so desolate now that it's here. In my mind, Eren represents the human desire for freedom and his strive to get it fueled him. This is the most heartbreaking and philosophic ending I've witnessed and although I don't love it, I feel like it deserves my respect.

I still remember when AOT anime was only one season long…. Get high as fuck and closing all the curtains in my house, binge watching that first season after a buddy told me “ dude it’s like walking dead of anime, anyone can die at anytime!”… fast forward 4 episodes and I sit in shock as the presumed “main character” gets his leg bitten off and then fully swallowed by these large “zombie-like” creatures called Titans….. I’ll never forget just how blown away I was with that first season

(Spoilers but you already know that) The final scenes of the manga depict all or paradis being rebuilt and advancing only to suffer war again in the moderen day and destroying paradis the one thing that stood was erens grave as it grew into a giant tree (similar to the one ymir fell into) the final panel of the manga shows a kid wandering to erens grave and fiing a hole in a tree in it just like how ymir found it with all this in mind i just got 1 thing to say Ah shit here we go again

What I’ll never understand is why Grisha asked Zeke to stop Eren yet allowed Eren to eat him. I assume Carla’s death has something to do with it seeing that Eren didn’t give him details of her death, but it still makes no sense cause he still chooses to pass on the founders/ attack titan to Eren without said details. Time paradox’s are always a bad idea cause you can always find holes in them.

At the time that he told Zeke to stop older Eren, Grisha didn't know that Carla had died. So when younger Eren told Grisha that Carla had died, I believe he then thought that there was no other way to protect the Subjects of Ymir unless they fought back. Hence why he let younger Eren eat him, so as to help him, through the power of the Attack Titan, to get revenge possibly. But yeah, time paradox😅😅
