What control?
@heartsthrob86813 ай бұрын
@@skip031890 control is a term used to describe how an artist can stay in pitch despite all the vibrato, runs, and belting power (which she always mastered). she usto go sharp or flat after belting big notes, or her vibrato would be so heavy it would veer sharp. But now her vibrato and belting is within the range of the notes!

She also usto just belt the whole F’ing song. 😂😂Which took away from the story. Not anymore though!!!
@TB3173 ай бұрын
Thank you! SO many people refuse to give her her props running the same tired narrative that all she does is scream (Especially people that don't know the difference between a belt and a scream), but refuse to recognize that she has reigned in and honed her vocal prowess so much. She still can and does belt where appropriate, but she does not carry that classic gospel "oversing" into every genre anymore.

She paid direct tribute to Whitney’s iconic, 10-minute-straight performance at the ‘94 AMA’s. Jennifer not only referenced Whitney’s vocal choices, she even performed some of the same nuanced/suggestive physical movements as Whitney did during the opening number, even wearing a version of the same dress. This is easily Jennifer’s best Whitney tribute, or dare-I-say, the best Live vocal performance of her career. Say what you want about her, but Singing. Like. This. LIVE. Is. Not. Easy. Nor. is it common. MOST wouldn’t dare step on that stage with a hot mic, much-less attempt THIS. Jennifer shut a LOT of people up with this (who of course will nnnevveerr admit it). 20+ years in the game, post American Idol, executing Live, in-your-face vocals like she’s fightin’ for an EGOT or somethin’….Oh…wait… 🤷🏾♂️😏 💫✨⭐️❤️

The one thing Whitney loved about JHud performing this is that she made it her own! THAT is what you call a TRIBUTE! People are so critical expecting an IMPERSONATION, and that’s not what a tribute is! A tribute is a love letter to the person you’re honoring in your way! But “above all this”, Whitney herself gave Jennifer all the praises and dubbed her one of the greatest voices of our time, so no other opinion will ever matter to Jennifer! I’m so happy she had the opportunity to sing this to her personally and I’m 100% certain if she was still here with us, she’d be standing the ENTIRE time for her just as she did for her then! Amazing, you can see that she didn't go full 1000% and didn't over-sing anything. This was such a tasteful tribute to Whitney that still had JHud's signature belts.

Wow, Jennifer really poured her soul into this! 🌟 It's like Whitney was right there with her. Such a perfect mix of respect and her own style. That silence at the right moment? Pure magic! 🎤✨

Jennifer Hudson is an incredible talent who can ANYTHING. Anyone who's every doubted her hasn't paid attention. She gave a flawless and perfect tribute to another incredible talent who was taken way too soon.

Glad to see that they’re remembering Whitney, but she was gifted. No one comes close to her work.
