I really love J Hud as an interviewer. She just knows how to build rapport with guests, she hypes them up, and she let's them talk! She really listens, provides some yeses to let the other person know that she's keeping up with what they're saying. And you can just tell she's really proud of Cynthia. She's been in the industry longer and singing alongside her for The Color Purple, Cynthia really held her own. Can't wait til Cynthia gets her Oscar! She's gonna complete that EGOT for sure. 💚

She needs to do more research and ask more in depth questions. Think it’s pretty well known that Ari and Cynthia have a close connection. Jennifer could’ve asked a more specific question than what was it like to work with her. Her questions are too basic. Cynthia was on The View and they asked better questions that got Cynthia to say more meaningful things

I'm on the opposite end. She repeats herself ("...and it's been great for us to see") and doesn't do much research. It also doesn't seem very authentic. Even when she's interviewing her idols or friends, it all comes across very rehearsed. Terrific performer but the talk show format isn't for her.

For example, I am big fan of Kelly Clarkson but as an intervewer she is so hyper and often doesn't let the guest talk enough. That's her personality and I find it adorable but she has to learn to bring it down a notch or two. One of the people who has the best style and is always well researched is the guy from First We Feast and he is eating hot wings the entire time! lol

Jennifer Hudson is currently holds the record of youngest female competitive EGOT winner (in 2022 when she was 40). Cynthia will be 38 by the 2025 Oscars and IF she wins for her role in Wicked in 2025, she will not just take that title, but also be the youngest EGOT winner of all time. Jennifer Hudson knows what it is to get a break and it is her responsibility as a talkshow host and as a celebrity, to put her ego aside and not to worry about a younger woman coming up behind her because every great comedian and every great artist were given breaks on the talk shows of old like Johnny Carson, etc. I urge Miss Hudson, not to worry about her own career and to give the truly deserving Sarah Ikuma all of the support and all of the cache that she can lend to her. THAT would be a feather in her cap, to see Sarah Ikumu reach the vast audiences she should.

Love her down but I think she kinda rushes through the interviews a bit too much, I think she either needs to make them longer or ask less questions to give more time for natural conversation so the segways don’t feel so jarring. Still so much fun to watch though!
