Chris Tester is genuinely one of the greatest voice actors I have ever had the utmost pleasure and privilege to see/hear perform. Its one thing to know how to act or have a nice voice. Its another to know how to embody a character and understand their emotion on a level deep enough to be able to perform it believeably. I've said for years he should be hired for more Black Library audio releases. Children of the Emperor was spectacular, if anyone hasn't listened to it. You think the tiktoks are good?

I think Eisenhorn would agree. He is doing his all to protect humanity but ones he really cares most are his comrades he knows best. The og companions burn their picture into his mind that nothing can repay. Losing them paved way for his fall. Gazing too long into darkness with nobody to pull him back finished it. Too many horrors made him too distant from what he claims to defend 😑

Couldn't finish the first book Xenos. Got about 70% of the way through and just didn't care about anything happening or anyone involved. Eisenhorn himself is just such a boring block of wood as a protagonist. Can't even remember a single supporting character other than Bequin and even then all I recall is her being a little upset to find out she was a blank. Really wish I could see what everyone else does with Eisenhorn and his books. Always heard they are some of the best books in the setting. However I was completely surprised to find not a single positive aspect of any of the 2 or 3 hundred pages I read.
