Hi folks, I’m sharing another robust backpack. This is my Eberlestock V69 Destroyer. It is a nicely appointed conventional pack capable of carrying heavy loads. Enjoy
Specs
Material: 420 Denier rip stop nylon (water resistant)
Capacity: 60 liters or 3660 cubic inches (it is expandable with the high-rise collar)
Empty weight: 8 lbs. or 3.6 kilograms
Color shown: Dry Earth
Other colors or patterns: Green, Coyote, Unicam, Hide Open Rock veil and Hide Open Western Slope
Approximate cost: $389 USD (Linton Outdoors or Santana Outdoors)
Optional items shown: A2MP Eberlestock Multi-pack accessory pouch. This pouch can be mounted onto the shoulder harness system and worn across the chest. It can also be attached to the MOLLE webbing as shown in the video.
Eberlestock ACSL 36 inch Quick Release accessory lashing straps
Source WX3L hydration system - 3 liter (100 oz.) bladder, BPA free and anti-microbial (Israeli made)
Source WX2L hydration system - 2 liter (70 oz.) bladder, BPA free and anti-microbial (Israeli made)
Streamlight Nano light
Maxpedition Web Dominator - Khaki
Leatherman Charge TTI in large Leatherman sheath - Khaki
eGear Guardian Light - Red
So-LED light by Maratac
Klarus XT11 Dual Switch Tactical Flashlight w/aggressive strike bezel in Maxpedition 5 inch Flashlight Sheath - Khaki
Maxpedition Grim-Loc D-Ring - Khaki
Maxpedition Tac-Link Polymer Carabiner - Khaki
This pack is capable of carrying a long gun by inserting the butt of the rifle into one of the side pockets and securing it with the retention/compression straps.
Applications: Hunting, fishing, camping, bushcraft, exploring, wilderness research, emergency go-bag, etc…
Cons: At eight pounds some might find this pack a bit heavy for its size. This pack can be a bit top heavy if not loaded properly when using the expandable high-rise collar. Also, the water bladders tend to stick out by about 4 inches from the outer sleeves and fit tight. The 70 ounce bladder fits better. The bladder sleeves measure approximately 13 ½ inches tall by 6 ½ inches wide.
This pack is very comfortable, adjustable and capable of carrying heavy loads, but it is not for everyone. The V90 Battleship is the bigger version of this pack coming in at 6100 cubic inches or 99 liters. I hope you find the right pack for you.
Note: I have no opinion or judgement on how heavy or light you make your own backpack. Pack loads and contents are personal preference and I’m sure whatever you choose to carry in your pack will be right for you. Respectfully

Absolutely great review! Super in depth and full of detail. I already pulled the trigger on the 5.11 Tactical Rush 100 but this pack looked too nice not to check out! Definitely be sharing this pack recommendation if it's in their budget!

My compliments...Great, well informing video, in showing the parts and pockets on screen, as well as Both Pros and Cons. I wish all reviews were as well made. I am in the deciding stage for my pack, but still need to get a few more things, pertaining to Gear. The Pack will probably be the last thing I buy, but I am, and enjoy searching for better Packs. So Thanks again.

Thank you. I purchased the Skycraine J79 and it was just way too much pack for me. I think this one will be perfect.

Mark..... It was a tough choice. Blue widow, destroyer, or CFP-90. I went with the CFP. It is the real deal made by DJ Manufacturing not a knock off. Reason is it is 90 liter and 100 plus with attachment. The destroyer is 83 liter if I remember correctly. Either way I'll bug out with you anytime.

Man, love those packs and one day will own one. But until then the USMC GEN II had to do for the money. I am eyeing the gunslinger I or II.

Your video here, really helped me in making the decision to go ahead and order this backpack! I absolutely LOVE it! I am planning on hitting the Appalachian Trail (AT) this spring with a buddy of mine. I have two main questions for you, since you are an owner of the V69 Destroyer, and already used to it and how to fit/pack/attach items to it. 1. I am looking at adding two (2) liter hydration bladders to my destroyer. I already have a Camelbak 3-Liter 100oz Ambush, this bladder will fit the hydration pockets on my destroyer empty very well, but once I fill it up mostly full it's too tight. I'm wondering which brand and model of bladders you are using? How does your 2-Liter bladder fit in the destroyers hydration pocket vs the 3-Liter, full and empty? Here's what I am thinking of purchasing and using on my destroyer: Camelbak 90856 Coyote 70 oz/20L MIL SPEC Antidote. These are the 2-Liter.shorter version. measurements on the camelbak antidote when filled with water is 12.75 x 7 x 2.38 in. I think this will fit perfectly, what is your thought on this? My only other question is, I have a Snugpak Bunker tent, I want to lash this to the bottom of my destroyer. What lashing/webbing straps would you recommend for doing this? I want something that will be strong enough to handle the weight of my bunker tent, which is coming in right about 7.7lbs. Thank you very much for making this video, it really is helpful and excellent for potential buyers of this pack, and anyone looking to learn a little more about the destroyer. Please get back to me when you have time, again Thank You!

+Michael Fabian Hi, I have both the 3L and 2L bladders made by Source (Israel made). They are BPA free and anti-microbial. Both of them stick out from the side sleeves by about 4 inches. The 3L is super tight. The 2L bladder fits better. I think a 70 ounce bladder is a better option for me. The bladder sleeves measure approximately 13 ½ inches tall by 6 ½ inches wide. The optional lashing straps I purchased are the 36” Quick Release Accessory straps by Eberlestock, product number ACSL. They come in lengths of 24 and 36 inches. They are 1 inch wide. I trust these straps. Hi there I am looking for a more adventurous type of backpack and I am very interested in the V69. My only doubt is whether it will wear with the same comfort as a hiking pack of similar size and quality. I will not be carrying more than 45 lbs. What is your experience about this? Thanks
@TheAmericanOutfitter

Hi, the V69 wears well, but it does not wear like a more traditional lightweight backpack that is built for speed and slickness. There other packs made out of thinner, more lightweight materials that may be better suited for traditional backpacking tasks (Osprey, Gregory, Arc’teryx, Mountain Hardwear, Granite Gear, etc…). As far as quality, no issues there, Eberlestock makes premium heavy duty packs. It will handle 45 pounds. If you’re looking for a heavy duty pack for the backcountry, here are some other big players, Blacks Creek, Eberlestock, Fjallraven, Kifaru and Mystery Ranch. I hope you choose the right pack for you, respectfully
