Squirrels: plant a oak tree that produces acorns opposite side of property from your garden. Then have a few bird baths and fill them with rainwater caught from drainspounts when rain doesn't do it. Squirrels are going after your cabbage because they either do not have enough water or enough of their natural food. Also, next season chicken wire your garden sides and top.

Add a Scarecrow, fake Owls and put Cayenne Pepper around your beds. That should help a lot. The only good Squirrel is one that is six foot under.

Gardens are cool. I posted a message that there was some guy in Nebraska who had figured out how to grow Tropical fruit in the snow. I think KZbin deleted it because I linked the video. I personally am not that great with plants.

You may need to make slings for the pumpkins... old panty hose works ok, or nylon net bags from onions, or potatoes. Maples should be true to type unless it is grafted. All peaches pretty much are grafted so no clue what you will get...probably not as hardy as you would hope for.
