Just wanted to add that bundling and bed courting were common practice amongst the "English" in the 1700s, which is when the Amish came to America. Who knows? They may have learned the practice from us!

Awesome video. It was interesting, and amusing. I plan on coming back to your channel for more. Now, a bit of a rant. As far as doing what’s “natural” where pregnancy and delivery is concerned. The number of women who died in childbirth is unknown. Some estimates are that it was between the conservative 1-1.5% and one in three. The one in three seems to be ridiculously high. It most likely is thrown out there because it is SCARY. But, pregnancy, delivery, and the weeks that followed were dangerous. Then, there the issue as vaccinating babies. Before “modern” medicine “most” children died before they reached the age of five. I tried to find the percentage and what “most” means… I failed🤦‍♀️. Even then it would be difficult to determine how many died from diseases prevented by vaccines, and how many died from diseases prevented by access to clean water, and antibiotics. But, you probably get my point. I don’t doubt that you care about women and children. I am sure most people are concerned about pharmaceutical companies and their encroachment in our lives. But, to not be aware of the problems they have solved for us is just naive. My youngest daughter has two best friends. One of them had a baby girl in early June 2023. She already had two little boys. one was 3 yo, and the other was 20 months. Both boys had severe asthma and had been hospitalized. When the little girl was 7 weeks old she got COVID. She died within days. The mother had not been vaccinated, so unfortunately she did not have antibodies to pass along through breastmilk. If we continue along “Vaccines are Bad Ave” we will all know people who lose children to illnesses that are preventable. I understand concern about the effects of vaccines, but as a mother of three (I had four but I lost my middle daughter in 2020), and a grandmother of four ( I want at least one more… fingers crossed) I want what everyone else wants. It’s scary, it sucks. What do we do?l

That’s normal. I think one of the things that people get so crazy about that we all do is jokes about other people groups. We as Black people joke about white people all the time and we joke about Spanish people we joke about our own people. I mean, I think that that’s relative for every people group there’s always something funny about a people group.

My mom is PA Dutch (Zook) and my aunt had Downs. Also her cousin had Downs. I also have an Aunt that passed from Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis and an Uncle currently living with it. I also have Hyper-mobile Ehler's Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and it is hereditary on my mom's side. I honestly just think it's genetics, not necessarily strictly Amish genetics.
