This song came out in the final days of the year and pounded into the ring strong. Nobody does anarchy anthems like ATEEZ. There was a prologue film that showed people waiting for their dark selves to come back, but they're seemingly gone for now. Then in the MV a new lighter group is rising from the ashes while the anarchy flag crumbles and the black hat (in Wooyoung's hand) that all of dark-ATEEZ wear burns (you see them that way in things like HALA HALA, Answer, etc), signifying an end. When San pulls the sphere out of the sky and it crashes down on his head without injuring him, it could be signifying that nothing is big enough to make their spirit crumble and they can rise above anything. Overall, I feel it's an anthem of hope- of perseverance and allowing the light to break through the darkness whilst breaking through the bonds of oppression society has you chained in. Don't stand by silently when you can be a force that is capable of rattling the world.

The Hala in Halazia comes from their song Hala Hala (Hearts Alive, Live Awakened) which is one of their most iconic performances and introduces an alternate version of themselves some fans call Halateez. In there lore, Ateez exists in multiple dimensions and Halateez is another version of themselves. Halateez is typically seen in black fedoras, which is the outfit that the scarecrow was wearing in this MV. It isn't confirmed what the -zia means but there's been theories that it could be the zia symbol which is equaivalent to the four cardinal directions, or it could mean light. The fedora-wearing Halateez has also appeared in other Ateez Mvs such as Hala Hala (where they were introduced), Say My Name, Answer, and now Halazia.

Loved that you are reacting to Ateez! (Pronounced Ay-Teez/Eh-Teez). I will let smarter Atiny explain the video to you, but Ateez has a lore/story that persists throughout their videos. This video is a very lore heavy. Hala means Hearts Awakened, Live Alive and so Halazia is thought to mean Hearts Awakened, Live Alive, Be the light. I truly believe there is no group like Ateez. They are amazingly talented in all aspects (visuals, vocals, dance). They are hilarious off stage and so fun to watch. Hopefully you can check out a guide to get to know them more as I think that makes the music video experience even better. They have such an amazing discography, I don't even know where to start. But the song that got me into Ateez was Deja Vu so maybe you can add that to your list.

To understand the visuals of the black hat and scarecrow: first watch "Hala, Hala" (also where the name Halazia comes from/ shows the "dark side"), then "Say My Name" (battling with your inner dark side), then "Answer" (when you finally make peace with your inner demons and accept your dark side). It will make the most sense in this order. Also, the black hat visuals are all throughout these specific videos, which eventually gets burned in "Halazia" as if they are finally burning away this side of themselves.

Ateez is such a phenomenal group! They have quite the extensive lore behind the music which kinda of means you have to watch their stuff in order to make sense of it and even then atiny still can't fully grasp it! hahaha basic concept is that they are pirates they have multiple universes one universe- the one scene in halazia and geurialla is called strickland, a dystopain society where emotion is being oppressed and anything that can trigger it such as music is also banned. Something you will see in the videos is an hourglass called a cromer- used to travel between the dimensions ateez are leading the uprise but we know there are different versions of them, of those being hala hala ateez (see hala hala music video) wear all black, black hat- in this music video- the scarecrow is what hala hala ateez looks like. It's 2 in the morning and this is all my brain can muster right now. If anyone else can formulate a better explanation please do! haha

I would suggest you to watch from their debut MV til Guerrilla. Coz they getting better and better and better each comeback. If you watch randomly from Guerilla the suddenly Hala Hala jumped to Dejavu, you might not see their improvement. 😊

To really understand ATEEZ and their storyline, you should start at the beginning with Pirate King because there is a lot to follow. Hongjoong, who is the leader, but he goes by captain, has done a video explaining the storyline as well

Halazia's album is called Spin Off: From The Witness, so this MV and the lyrics are all from the point of view of an unknown person living in the dystopian world the current Ateez storyline is set in. It's a parallel dimension where emotions and art are banned (it's inspired by various dystopian classics but most visibly by the movie Equilibrium) and that dimension's version of Ateez (called Halateez, from the first title track they were the protagonists of, Hala Hala) disappeared at some point, leaving people without hope until our Ateez arrived in that reality.

Ateez!! Like A-teez. Okay so they were literally the last “rookie” group I really got into. Haven’t really followed anyone else since lol. Love them for their high energy, concepts, and performances. tysm for the reaction, halazia is a play on one of their earlier tracks hala hala which stands for hearts awakened live alive and i believe zia means light but you’ll probably have to fact check on that but yeah. as i’m sure other atinys have mentioned they have quite the storyline that extends throughout all their music videos, choreographies and even lyrics which you’ll get to know as you discover more about them, i’d highly suggest watching their mvs from beginning to end at your own pace :)

In my opinion and observation the more I watch the MV analyzing the lyrics, to me I feel that ATEEZ have become one with their alter-egos HALATEEZ or at least taken control of their dark side when they say “no more, keep your soul …. no more, keep control” something along those lines.
