Hmm Charlamagne perspective on Cardi B is contradictory. I understand completely what he's saying and I agree. The things Cardi did have been happening forever. Hell my mama is almost 70 and she has similar stories. But just because it's normal to us doesn't make it right. Same thing I had to realize with R Kelly. Growing up it wasn't uncommon for high school girls 14 to 16 to date grown men so I had a hard time understanding what all the fuss was about. I had to realize that just because it was common to me doesn't make it not fucked up. Charlamagnes not keeping that same energy because he like Cardi B but I see both perspectives.

Monique Durham my problem with this fake outrage story is R kelly and Cosby are sexual predators so why the fuck are we comparing this to Cardi Bs story? She did what all these rappers brag about in their songs except they did it at gun point which makes the robbery worse in a court of law. 21 Savage for instance talked about doing stick ups, nobody said cancel him for that but somehow we're supposed to be outraged cause Cardi didn't rob people he "right way" by sticking a gun in their face, she did it the "wrong way"by drugging them? Fuck outta here.

Half through the movie I rated it a 5/10. I truly said to myself this is decent but just a basic horror movie and not groundbreaking and felt kinda underwhelmed. Thought Mr. Peel had failed us and suffered through the sophomore slump. Then the second arc hit in the new house and the last hour or so of the movie made this a FIRM 9/10 for me. Well done. Have to watch it again. Might even do it again in the theatre.

Jordan Peele’s “Us” is not a masterpiece in the realm of rosemary’s baby, the exorcist or the shinning. But it's def a runner up. It’s in the pantheon of great classics like the poltergeist or more recently Panos Cosmatos’s Mandy. The entire cast came thru with thrilling performances, especially Lupita (bagging another academy trophy or at least a nomination) and new comer Evan Alex who plays Jason & Pluto. Peele’s ultimate talent comes in his use of music and sprinkling comedy nuggets in situations that normally wouldn’t work. It’s a wholesome entertaining horror flick that touches on classism ( a nod to 1927,s Metropolis by Fritz Lang) and also plays with the Jungian concept of the Shadow. Def a worthy watch and I recommend y’all to see it before it leaves the big screen.

These rappers did much worse ranging from assault, rape, murder and domestic violence. "Write what you know" as the saying goes. Dr Dre regularly beat women and he permanently injured a female journalist back in the 90s who is now homeless. He also apologized and ppl still love him and buy his shit. What Cardi did was deplorable but its not even close to evils that serial rapists and abusers commit on a regular basis. A man can recover from a robbery but violent rape and assault scars you for life.

Yea we don’t know what cardi did. if you want to cancel someone for taking away someone’s power/choice then Keep the same energy. The woman who had sex with r kelly and the kid was considered an adult by the state when she meet R kelly

@@Richie55Rich why would i keep the same energy with two different crimes? Everything don't deserve the same energy cases are custom to the situation. It is against the law to have sex with minors period if he would've stopped after the first case he beat cool no one would talk about it now. But he decided to continue to have sex with minors piss on them allegedly beat them kidnap them keep them locked up etc. Him and cardi isn't even the same crime. So why do they deserve the same energy. Compare cardi to DMX who admitted to robbing stabbing beating ppl compare her to Project pat who admitted to robbing ppl in many interviews compare her to chief keef Kodak Black casonova all admitted to robbing ppl and causing violence. Shit even tax stone he had many stories on brilliant Idiots about crimes he was a whole pimp. That brings me to the famous pimps in the game. It's know they keep their prostitutes drugged. 35:45 Speak for yourself bro.. Charlamagne is bugging, the Key and Peele show was fucking incredible. The only thing that the Chapelle show did better was the stand up bits in between. But the skits in Key and Peele were funny as shit. Those dudes are legit actors and all there shit kills online till this day. That's partially why their shit is so successful now. People trust the brand. Skit for skit Key and Peele>Chapelle show. They can't fuck with Dave on stage tho.

"US" was not done very well at all. I don't understand how the doppelgangers were so unfortunate just because they lived under a carnival. They had the same clothes and there was nothing stopping them from going upstairs into the real world as they eventually did. I don't see the point being Classism. All I got from the movie is that a bitter American taught Doppelgangers the way of being American which is, solving your problems with violence. Not that deep. And no, it's not necessary to give out everything about a movies meaning through the dialogue, but people are trying to put meaning into the movie that wasn't heard NOR seen throughout the sequence of the movie. People are not connecting any dots with these ideas.

Let's stop defending Cardi by claiming she's not R. Kelly or Cosby... that shit is apples and oranges. If Jay Rock or Nipsey Hustle came out and admitted (not bragging on an album about some possibly fake shit) but straight up confessed to drugging and robbing women, CTG wouldn't be doing all this nonsense about explaining it a book or presenting it differently... And he DAMN SURE wouldn't have said "I wish he hadn't said it".

That whole “were americans” part was not phenomenal whatsoever. It was so blatant which shows that he truly wanted to carry out a superficial theme that wasnt even well thought out anyway. Theres a bunch of analysts who are trying to understand what this movie is about and even THEY cant tell you what this movie was definitively trying to tell you. It was fun to watch and certain points i thought it was very clever but the “were americans” part was just so cringey
