If you don't look at the video, there's no hint that this isn't the voice of a woman about thirty years younger than Ann is now. I have no doubt that she practices a vigorous vocal care routine, but what's even more remarkable than the strength of her vocals is that she has kept the depth and power of her younger years Eben after losing a significant amount of weight. I don't say this to make an aesthetic or social judgement, but because additional weight will often help to carry a voice and give it resonance. This is why classical singers are traditionally known to be heavy. While the mic has reduced the need for extra flesh around the middle, it still works as an amplifier. Yet there's little difference in resonance in Ann's voice even at what's typically considered a very advanced age for a singer, as well as a reduced weight. Which is all to say that although she's working with significant material disadvantages her vocal quality can still compete with what it was twenty or even thirty years ago!
