Glad to see I wasn't the only one who had fond memories of this being an excellent source of classic 80's horror! I was a mere 10yrs old when I saw this one in the theatres...couldn't wait until it was available on the HBO lineup to keep on scaring myself and my friends with it. I'm sure anyone watching it today, for the first time, will see it as pretty cheesy effects, acting, and storyline. But man oh man was this creepy and freaky back when it came out. Unfortunately, it never seemed to gain much popularity or mention back then, so it became sort of a cult following favorite. Always will be a gem in my book!!

There are a very few movies that I have ever considered terrifying. But this is one of them. I saw it as an adult and it creeped me out for years. Like The Exorcist, I made myself watch it again just to "get victory" over it. Now I own it. But I don't watch it often. Like maybe every few years, during the daylight. BTW, I do not watch The Exorcist. I got victory over that one too. But that was enough. As to Gurby's comment about the effects, They were perfectly suited to the film, IMHO.

I don't remember this movie at all. Of course in the early 80s there were so many films with themes like this. I had never even heard of this movie until hearing it mentioned in Meg Tillys "Cozy Tea Time" KZbin series. I'm a loyal viewer of that series. Meg is one of my favorite actresses. A viewer had left her a message about how she felt filming in an actual mausoleum. She admitted she was very uncomfortable. I've read online that in the DVD commentary, the director (Tom McLoughlin) praised Meg, saying she used that real fear to enhance her performance. Meg said Tom was a real sweetheart of a guy & very supportive.

He had to dig deep in the memory banks for this one. I didn't even get some of the details right and he still nailed it. These days I'm the one that sends him all the B list obscure shit he's never heard of, but he still proves where I got my education from lol. One of my favorite horror movies and I remember finding the part with Remar and his daughter the most fascinating.

Although released in 83 I heard it was actually filmed in 81. Also, originally Sharon Stone was up for the role that Meg Tilly took. I forget what happened.

Leslie Winslow is probably the most well-written female character in a horror movie that makes the right decision. She just skipped all the BS. Not just one time but twice they tried to pull her in and she was like nope. I don't do graveyards.

I’m noticing that 8:00 in the movie looks a lot like the mausoleum in the 1979 Don Coscorelli classic: Phantasm!❤ Whad’dya think people.?

I saw this back in the day as a kid. It scared the heck out of me! That darn Ramar! I forgot Adam West was in it! A bit of fun when I see it now, especially Adam's dead pan delivery, but an interesting concept, and okay for what it was. 👊

This was a fun & very underrated 80's horror flick along the lines of Hell Night

The poor caretaker will have a hell of a mess to clear up! Also am I the only one who thought the actor playing Steve looked a little bit like Christopher Reeve

I’ve been looking for this movie. I thought the name of it was Mortuary. And then I thought it was Mausoleum. But neither matched up to the movie I remember. Even though those are good 80’s movies too. Finally found it. Thanks for posting.

This movie was my earliest memory of horror. It came on TV from what i recall. I was probably six, I could remember the movie and general plot, a few scenes here and there but not the name of the film or Actors. Glad i found it ! 😅

I miss the time when films had a logical, comprehensible plot that you could remember. Strong finale.
