Yeah right. Fully completely with ya on this. Seen m in 86 when they started up. I live in the south of the Netherlands and we've got the oldest each year returning pop - rock festival . It's in the guineas book.of records PINKPOP Well thing is the chief of the fest gotten famous about that concept if him. Asking Bands later on, in their carrier to come and play again. 1991 THE CULT as finishing act never ever gonna forget that live gig. Forgot the singers name. Well it wasn't that he had a tempor. Or being in a bad mood on the contrary. He was fucking wild. This cult gì went into the statistics of Pinkpop lime the fuck here and fuck there gig Each third word he s been using was fuck fuck off and he didn't wanna stop 1 a.m is tops. So the concert chief Jan Smeets Pulled the plug on.them., lol him this went on for another half an hour chief.pulling it out the singer back plugging it in again woah heavy and heavy in ways. I heard two of the loudest gigs ever Mostly finishing acts. But.well THE CULT 91 WAS ONE . PINKPOP MOVED MORE SOUTH IN 87 AFTER 17 YEARS HERE IN GELEEN THEY NEEDED TO NO ROOOM LEFTGOTTRN BIGGER AND BIGGER HOWEVER NOE THEY ARE ON SN OLD HORSE RACETRACK 800 METERS MINIMUM. IT WAS AT THE END SO F... HARD THE SOUND NEEDED TO MOVE TILL THE END OF THE TRACK AND STILL BLASTI G HARD THE OTHER TE WAS IN BELGIUM ROCK WERCHTER THIRD LAST CLOSING BAND AND IMSGING STONG AFTER THIS GIG THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS CAME IN TOO LATE HUNDRED THOUSENDS IN FRONT OF ME GETTINNG DARK ALSO NRVER FORGET AS WELL 91 IN THE BEGINNING YEARS WITH THEIR DISTINGUISHED SOCK ACT TOTALLY NACKED ONLY WEARING S SOCK ON THEIR PROVATE PSRTS AND AGAIN THE BELGIUM PEOPLE ARE SO RELAXT THEY TURNED THE VOLUME UP I WAS SHACKING ON FLEAS BASS. ON THE END OF THE FIELD AMAZING AND THEY FINISHED ON THREE HENDRIX SONG THESE WERE THE WILDEST HARDEST GIGS I EVER SAW AND HEARD LOVE AND LIGHT

This word...underrated...it is becoming a tad overused tbh! They are not in any way underrated by those who love their music. I certainly don't believe they are underrated! Maybe by the music press but Ian or Billy never really cared about what the media thought anyways. They were slated for nearly every album they released since their Love album. Who cares what the music media think, we, their benefactors know how good they are and that's all that matters ❤❤🖤🖤🤘✌CFFC✌🤘🖤🖤❤❤

At their peak NO ONE could match the Cult! Very few still can! They are still recording, still releasing albums and still performing! The Cult are as relevant now as they ever were! Yeah they released a couple of ok albums but their music is still unique, Ian's voice is as strong and amazing as ever and he's looking better than ever! No they are NOT underrated (this word is far too overused and frankly needs to be ditched and torn from the music dictionary! It also annoys me when people say the Cult are underrated! They were NEVER EVER underrated by the people who bought their records!)

THE CULT and especially Ian always wanted to re-invent themselves. They completely changed their style after CEREMONY and released the self titled THE CULT album, which still had that vibe, but was not something for the mainstream audience. So they disbanded and came back a couple of years later and more or less had to start all over again. But every CULT album is different and unique. There are not many bands in the world, who can do that.

The chords just CRUSH during the verse! Ian Astbury is one of those vocalists where you hear him sing and you know EXACTLY who it is.

Wild hearted son Baby, the world didn't want me to run To try and break me down to my knees, yeah Wild hearted, yeah yeah Yeah Well now You know, I shoot from the hip now My fist raised in the air I'm a whirlwind dreamer, baby With my head high in the clouds, yeah Ow, don't take me too lightly I got the blues power, baby I'm just a breed of society I'm pushin' hard and stealin' free Don't you try to lay no trip on me, yeah I'm a wild hearted son I'm comin' down like a rolling stone Wild hearted son, yeah I'm a wild hearted son Hey mama, the world didn't want me to run Wild hearted son Ow, I was born to the city But I longed to roam free Got a screaming horse in my belly Scar on my heart I live outside of convention You know the people who stare I'm just a breed of society I'm pushin' hard and I'm stealin' free Don't try to lay no trip on me, whoa 'Cause I'm a wild hearted son I'm comin' down like a rolling stone, yeah Wild hearted son I'm a wild hearted son Lil' honey, the world didn't want me to run, yeah Wild hearted son Baby, baby, yeah yeah Wild hearted son, yeah The world didn't want me to run Try to break me down, down down down down I'm a wild hearted son I'm comin' down like a rolling stone, oh yeah Wild hearted son I'm a wild hearted son Lil' honey, the world didn't want me to run Wild hearted son, son, baby, yeah Oh oh

Just saw the Cult Dec. 2019. One of my all time favorite bands. And one of the best shows of them I've seen recently.'They were great. Ian's voice was excellent and can still move not like the old days but who can. Billy was awesome. They will be coming back to the east coast in 2020. Make sure to see them if you can.
@bradss10005 жыл бұрын
Stacy Lindsey- It’s encouraging that you say Ian’s voice was great because I’ve played a video of a recent performance (past year or two), and his voice was absolutely shot.

@@bradss1000 I saw them a couple of years ago in New Haven at The college music Hall. He sounded good then but much better at the Capital theater. Can't wait to see them again when they come around. Happy to know there's still a lot of Cult fans
