Played against the Nightsky in a Classic game the other day. Never got to use its hatchet because my Mercury knocked its ass on the ground with a lucky gyro crit...and then the Mercury and my Locust proceeded to kick it repeatedly.

I kinda like the Nightsky. Question which do you consider better a NightSky or Hatchetman Nightsky - A5 S2 TMM2 M12J D3 - 30pts Hatchetman - A3 S4 TMM1 M8J D2 - 20pts Is it worth 50% more points for doubling TMM from 1 to 2, 50% more damage, 50% more movement while having the more armour but half the structure and is all energy weapons. Oh and the nightsky has all pulse lasers...

The TMM difference is nice, TMM 1 vs 2 isn't something to take lightly, but in my honest opinion if I was shaving points, you could field almost 2 Hatchetman vs 1 Nightsky so that makes it appealing from the cost front. That said, for 20 pts there are lighter units with better TMM and similar damage that will be harder to dislodge albeit lower total HP. Because of this I feel like for the pts here I'd be more likely to shelve the Hatchetman in favor of a lighter unit with better TMM or I might simply consider the Nightsky because of the TMM. You'd be paying more points for the Nightsky but it having a similar TMM to a lighter unit but more HP gives it the best of both worlds. For both units though, aside from playing strictly with the cards in the box, I'm not as drawn to either one as I am to other mechs out there that I gravitate towards. (not sure if my ramble answered any questions but I did want to reply nonetheless :) )

Phew, I was worried you were going to miss the terrain base. That's why the Hatcherman looks the weakest of them, unless we commit to a specific sprinting pose like the Thunderbolt it requires an extra piece to make good jumping poses work standing.

I backed the Kickstarter and got all the mercenary unit themed Force Packs as addons. This is going to be my first real forray into tabletop gaming (played a bit of Mordheim in college) but I have been a Battletech fan for decades. I got into it through the Mechwarrior PC games when I was in middle school, read a ton of the old Battletech books back then (still have them on my shelf) and got back into it in recent years through KZbin content and the Harebrained Schemes Battletech game and its extensive modding scene. I've been reading up on the IlClan era and it seems a lot less terrible than the rushed Jihad and the Dark Age if they can restrain themselves from making Alaric Ward even more of a Gary Stu protagonist. The Federated Suns being the underdog and getting Eiffel Towered by Dracs and Capellans is a nice twist on the old lore. Can't wait to get into the tabletop aspect of the hobby and paint up some minis.

Hi , 1. The Wolfhound is Not jump capable, thats the Panther he was designed to hunt Hound 6/9 Panther 4/6/4 2. The Panther has the PPC, Wolfhound Large Laser, Nightsky Large Pulse

That Griffin 3M model looks pretty cool, and I think the stats themselves are pretty alright for what you get, that LRM can come in handy from time to time, EDIT: and it can jump unlike the Mad Dog, which is a little easier to shoot at. I think it's really just the slightly awkward pose and the LRM's weird size that puts me off a little.

The LRM shape is definitely odd, probably the only thing on the mini I don't like.
