I wasn't there either. But I do know that Vanilla Ice claimed that the run in with Suge Knight and his crew of football player looking bodyguards happened on at least a COUPLE of occasions. NOT JUST ONE! Chocolate and David Kenner can NEVER be mistaken for bodyguards. This man still has a 12 year old body. So I believe Mob James is telling the TRUTH. Maybe it is a separate run in/business meeting Chocolate is talking about. Or it happened before he got there. I agree with your theories. Maybe Mobb James wasn't there that time, but Vanilla Ice did say that Suge saw him at other places. I will say that I think that Suge using the girls to get to Vanilla Ice is a believable story. And as for what happened in the meeting, the most likely scenario is that Suge threatened Vanilla. I don't think it was a business meeting where Vanilla Ice had the choice to "get his lawyers" to participate.

AFTER every other black rapper had already been doing that since the Chronic went platinum as soon as it released. Even black hip hop magazines gave Vanilla Ice a chance with interviews... iirc a cover story, a couple page spread, etc BEFORE his album came out in the near mid 90s And what can Vanilla Ice do but only tell his side of the story when he basically got caught red handed telling lies which is what destroyed trust in him cause he got caught on MTV or some report interview where he basically lied on public television about his hit single "Ice Ice Baby" not sampling the Rockland Queen's "Under Pressure" musical arrangement and arguably it made his case worse because afterwards the band Queen filed a bigger lawsuit on him and subsequently Vanilla Ice attracted OTHER musical acts to do the same on rappers which sparked the sample lawsuits of the late 80s early 90s... So if Vanilla Ice was lying about the sample on television and lying about his background on Arsenio Hall Show by bringing a transient junkie Flavor Flav (who has come clean saying he was doing Hella drugs and had problems with Chuck D because of that) so Flavor Flav showing up to somehow legitimize Vanilla Ice on a black show host television talk show... is just highly suspect... Iirc Arsenio Hall didn't really have a problem with Vanilla Ice but some of the stuff he was doing didn't add up... otherwise the Beastie Boys and 3rd Bass where other white rappers who just never had the mainstream approval of 80s white dominated media where they wouldn't allow hip hop music on radio stations or even MTV until Yo MTV Raps happened. So Vanilla Ice had to stay away afterwards in the 90s because if he exposed himself acting fake, hip hop fans would see it and have no credibility for him.

Mario actually reveals himself to be a liar here. What songs does he say that he wrote? Ice is Working It, Stop That Train and It's a Party. It's A Party was one of the first songs Ice ever wrote. Back in 85-86. Chocolate says in the earlier interview that when he met Ice, he was already established in the underground rap scene. He was already performing on stage and rapping. They met somewhere in 87-88. So what songs was he performing when Chocolate met him? "It's a Party" was 100% one of them. So no, Chocolate did not write "It's a Party". Then he says he wrote "Ice is Working It" and "Stop That Train". Chocolate fell out with Ice around 1989 after Hooked was released. In 1990, To The Extreme was released and he had three new songs on that album. Including "Ice is Working It" and "Stop That Train". So during the time when Ice and Chocolate weren't on speaking terms and Chocolate was trying to get into contact with him over royalties - that's when he also wrote two new songs for him? He also claims that he sued Ice and got credit for these songs. He has never been credited as the co-writer or writer for any of these songs. The only song he has been credited for is "Ice Ice Baby". And what is funny is that in the previous interview, he even admits to not writing anything himself. The notes Chocolate gave to Vanilla Ice were actually written by The D.O.C. What's even funny that is before Suge Knight and Chocolate sued Ice to get Chocolate credited, there already was somebody credited as the co-writer of Ice Ice Baby. It was MC Smooth. So it's really weird that they claim Ice was stealing songs or removing credits... he was totally fine with crediting other co-writers. Like Khayree got writing credit for "Hooked".

A few things. Everyone is telling a different story. According to Vanilla Ice, Suge had shown up other places he was at--I gather that Mobb James might have been around for these other meetings. I've also heard that Suge is sly, so the story about him using the Australian girls as a way to get to Ice makes complete sense. Now, here's where I think Mario "Choc" is lying. I definitely think that Suge made some threats. Not for a second do I believe it was a cordial meeting. It's a known fact that Suge was an enforcer and intimidated many executives, artists, et al, into paying his clients.
