Thank you so much for this video. I'm doing my final project for college and it's about sequential pictures, I already read some stuff about Michals but your observations made may vision clearer. I'd recommend another name about this subject: Alair Gomes, you should check him out.

In the sequence with the two friends by Duane Michals, the hand written part indicates that one of them is Constantine Cavafy, the famous greek poet. I was familiar with the work of Duane Michals but I had no idea that he had done some kind of homage-work or work inspired by Cavafy. So exciting

Hi Ted, this is an excellent assignment! My first reaction is also how can we upload an image big enough to show the sequence in any detail? A Facebook image gets converted to 2048px on the longest side, and Instagram images get converted to 1080px on the longest side.

The best way to do this is by turning the images into a contact sheet. Label the files in the order you want them in and let the program arrange them in that order.

Hey Ted, interesting stuff as usual. I wonder if you are familiar with Paul Graham. He is a British photographer. One of his work is titled "A Shimmer of Possibility". It's about social fabrics in the United States. He used this kind of photo sequences style he called "filmic haikus or visual haikus". I suggest you check his works if you haven't.

As I do these "series" on an regular and ongoing basis, I have work ready to submit. Most of it won't fir the You Tube "purity rules" but you might appreciate some of them. I have not submitted anything so far because I have not been able to take the time to decode the methods of submissions. Give me a hint? If necessary, I can make 8x11.5 prints of the assembled images and mail them to Dallas (or Ft. Worth). Thanks T. dingman

with shadow bans affecting so many on Instagram, it may be better to post on Twitter otmr the Facebook page. Using a popular hashtag gets you banned almost immediately now. I created a new account and have posted 12 pictures over a few months. I've been shadow banned. I have 30 followers so not a gigantic deal for me, but it is worrying for small businesses.

Michiel Vanhoudt do you know why it is they are doing that?
@MichielVanhoudt7 жыл бұрын
isabel lopez no it seems like they're banning very spammy posts with a lot of hashtags and users that like pics a lot. My personal one is fine but my photography one is banned even though I hardly use hashtags (1 or 2 per picture). Google it, plenty of outrage over it.

Been working on this/these for a while. (Yeah, the octo-camera stuff might be cheating.) For me it's as much about the 'gestalt' as it is about the process of shooting (mostly film) photography--and the order that things come in--as well a story about the photographer and what is come across. Not to brag. You don't have to check it out. But it's here. flickr.com/photos/98574708@N02/albums/72157666753077991
