It just amazes me to see a dog that's been a stray on the streets... just trying to survive... who right away responds with tail wagging. You can tell Sunny is such a sweetie already! This doggie wasn't on the streets. He was dumped out in commercial timberland off some logging roads. Some locals knew about a stray that was wandering in the woods, but nobody could get him because he didn't respond when they called, so they put dog food out on the side of the dirt road, hoping to help, and praying that nobody shot him. This went on for about 6 weeks before we discovered him eating out of our compost pile. He had wandered out of the timberland and onto our property. It took my partner over a week to lure him close enough to the house so he could interact with him, and another week of feeding him to calm him enough to catch and take to the vet. We knew he was hard of hearing because he was startled very easily if he didn't see us coming. The vet confirmed he was totally deaf. We spent a week trying to get him into a shelter or rescue, but it was very difficult (local laws, his deafness, and no history with other dogs) so The Asher House was our last hope. We were desperate! Even though they were quite busy with new rescues, Lee stepped up to take this boy and give him his best life. We are so grateful to Lee and everyone a The Asher House for their love, compassion, and generosity. We're crying happy tears for the miracle of this rescue!

@@katz734 Imagine being blind and deaf and living on the streets of Mexico. I got my dog from Paws Across Borders and Brian is deaf with no eyes. I gave my friend who has a rescue a blind adorable poodle mix pup from Mexico and a deaf dalmation pit bull. She has had zero interest on them in two years. People like them but when they find out more about them they are no interested. Beccas Babies in Florence Arizona has these two for adoption...Tina and Abby. Tina is blind and needs other dogs with her and Abby is best the only dog.

He had bad digestive issued because he was eating garbage for weeks before we found him. Once Lee feeds him healthy food he'll feel - and smell - a lot better!

@@_Y.Not_ Yes. My partner first discovered him eating out of our compost pile and called out to him but the doggy never responded. When approached, he was startled and tried to run away but he kept coming back because my partner would put bowls of food out in the woods, then come closer and closer to the house until he was feeding him in the garage. We found a FB post from the mid-May that someone had made regarding seeing him off some logging roads, but nobody could catch him because he didn't respond to anyone's calls. He was emaciated, filthy, and super quiet. He doesn't bark, whine, or growl. He did grunt out of fear once, but otherwise makes no sounds. He allowed himself to be bathed and ate bowl after bowl after bowl of food, every day. That's all he wanted to do, eat and nap.

"How's it going Bud? I know you can't hear me." :D Lee's like me with my deaf cats. I talk to them all the time even though I know they can't hear me. I have started putting my head on their body and speaking because they can feel the vibrations. I tell them I love them a lot. Glad this dog found Lee esp since he is deaf. He's in good hands now!!!

Immediately I saw this beautiful new pup I thought he’s is one chilled Dude. He’s is gorgeous 💗 ….I loved it when you were kissing him on the bed… his reaction was like… I could get used to this Lol 😂

I lost faith in the human race a few years ago, but since finding the Asher house & of course Lee and his wonderful pack of dogs my faith has been restored. Was a little sceptical initially, no one is this kind, surely....but it's for real ....oh my heart. Not only does lee do wonders for lost, homeless & sick dogs but wonders for lost humans too. ❤.
