I'm still enjoying this immensely, and sharing it 8 years later. Now more relevant than ever.

Theater of Magic was always one of the best ones. Such a great tune.

Yeah.....I used to work at Radio Shack when they were selling this. I think it was the reason why I got the VHS. Jan Hammer really did great work. Today people are still trying to emulate that sound, but even the best aren't quite hitting it.

I got into 3D graphics and animation because of the Mind's Eye videos, love this music too. Thanks for posting.

Yeah this really brings me back. I was in 5th grade at the time when I saw this. It was one of the foundations of inspiration that affected me in my creative life...now I'm a film score composer for TV, commercial, and film. :) Thanks BtME

I remember when this first came out and I saw it on TV--was pretty blown away by the computer graphics. Pretty amazing how far things have come since then. Classic video.

Byte - my deepest, warmest gratitude to you for uploading this. It's been well over a decade since I saw this in full, and while computer animation has made many advances over that time, this video still feels fresh to me - I love how visually stimulating this is, how often the imagery changes, and how there appears to be an evolution of forms (e.g. when the jade-metal tiger turns into an almost-Voltronish golden beast after jumping through the file).

I love the Mind's Eye movies, I've got like four of them.. This segment (musically and animation wise) is only second to Valley of the Mind's Eye by Thomas Dolby, from Gate to the Mind's Eye. But really, this song is lovely. Thx for putting it up. ;D

Sure, graphics have improved vastly since this series, but NOTHING will ever be as artistic or creative as the Mind's Eye series. They're just incredible to watch over and over...

@CleansWithRag Amazing, thanks for that. It looks like a group of different clips knitted together since the style, quality and continuity seems to hop around a bit... being a lover of this type of work, I'd love to have more details of who was responsible, when they were completed and what soft / hard ware was used. If you know that too, or you can point me in the right direction? That'd be really cool.

@CleansWithRag Oh man...imagine what they'd come up with! They definitely had an eye for artistic merit as well as the music to go with the clips. That would rock!!

My original Minds Eye disks will not run on modern computers like they did on a Win 95 system. Anyone know how to get this without using a VCR tape?

As soulful as Todd R or Yes or Lee Michaels, this series from Jon is sheer genius, an after -taste to winning junior european classical piano recital contests It seems;l like Miami Vice met Visions of the Emerald Beyond! Schneiderama
