I really love how Austin was signing so Sandra could also understand what he was saying.and her little nods every once in a while made me smile so much.

Holy crap I'm so proud that they got to Broadway and they gave all of these wonderful actors a chance to shine regardless of their ability to hear, or even walk in Anna's case. So immensely proud and glad for all of them, they're doing amazing work and I hope to see more for them, this made my day so much.

Love these interviews but I’m really frustrated that theater mania translated from ASL to spoken English (by providing a voice over when deaf actors were signing) but didn’t provide sign interpretation when actors were speaking. I wish deaf fans could watch this and follow all the interviews!

I think there may have been an interpreter behind the camera for the actors, but it would've been great to have the interpreter on camera!

I saw the show on Saturday of this past weekend and I'm already looking to go back before they end their run. Please find your way to the Brooks-Atkinson Theatre at some point before they go because they are truly fantastic at telling this story.

OMG I had no idea Camryn Manheim was in this production until I came across this video! I'm always surprised to find out that a lot of actors I've seen in my favorite movies and TV shows have also done musicals and plays.

What do ppl think about the CC devices as opposed to having an actual interpreter in the theatre?
@Quaker-tc8ue
@Quaker-tc8ue 6 ай бұрын
I think it depends on where the device is placed. An older friend and i recently went to a local theater (we live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA) that is doing its best to be inclusive to everyone. I have low vision, and was disappointed there would be no audio description. The section of the theater where the play was to be performed had two ‘balconies,’ such as if they were doing Romeo and Juliet. One was on the left side of the performance space, the other on the right. I found the TV screen where open-captioning was to be, in a ‘balcony.’ If *i’d* needed it, it wasn’t fully accessible, the railing of the balcony was blocking my view. If I’d needed captioning, i would’ve needed to look to the side to read the captioning, watch the performance, look to the side, every few seconds. Aside from that, the play wasn’t what we thought it would be, we probably won’t return to that

I hit ‘reply’ too soon. We probably won’t be returning to that theater.
