Yeah I was thinking the same. Johnny is great at keeping everyone in topic and talking about fallacious arguments, JMike rocks the philosophy aspect, and Forrest is such a brilliant communicator, and is amazing at making this biology stuff understandable to lay-people. And they all are generally positive and pleasant (not that that is necessary, there is definitely space for anger, but for those of us trying to heal from and move past anger, having an alternative is nice). I bet if somebody marked gym and the rest of the atheist about having gender faith you wouldn't have left you would have cried 😂. I would laugh at gender faith if it wasn't so sad. I mean my God atheist are severely mutilating their own children because they believe in faith that their children have a brain and or a Spirit of a different gender in their body Atheism is so sad. But it's not surprising it would result in complete garbage. I mean look it exists because the talmud teaches his followers to push it on non-jewish people because the talmud teaches that Jewish people are human beings but non-jewish are not human beings but animals on Earth in human form with no other purpose but to serve Jewish people m Without the talmud atheism probably wouldn't exist at all today this is because most people don't have a disbelief in something most people are willing and able to believe things are true.

Allow me to be so bold as to provide some degree of clarity regarding how a christian/muslim/jewish heart works. Their hearts have a special extra double secret hidden compartment that allows communicative interaction between god and their hearts. Apparently you were not given one of those extra hidden double secret compartments regarding your heart, but if you join up with a Christian, Muslim or Jewish organization, they can have an extra hidden double secret compartment installed in your heart for the low, low cost of your critical thinking.

56:20 "Minister deconverted" - Yes, that was my dad too. He was a minister who became an atheist medical doctor. When I was 10, I started questioning religion, and at 13 I told my dad I didn't believe anymore. My dad called a family meeting and I thought I was in big trouble. Dad announced, "Keith says he doesn't believe in God anymore. Well, the fact is, I don't believe either. Religion is crap, and the doctrines are not valid. Everyone, do as you wish." My siblings were with me, only my mom remained religious. I always thought Dad's studies in science & medicine had led to his conversion (and influenced my skepticism). He later told me, no, it was studying the Bible for his masters in theology.

You know, it makes me like REALLY happy to see old people in the crowd, it must be so hard to give up the belief that your going to a paradise when you die, that theres a greater purpose for you. Its just incredibly brave to give that up when your aging and your time is running thinner, to accept the end. Its even more impressive because these people probably spent a majority of their life dedicating themselves to this faith and it must be extremely hard to say "none of its real". I just have an immense respect for these people who choose the difficult truth over delusion and the easy way, esspecially at their age. It really does make you think about how christians claim to be so much better and moral than everyone, all this talk about righteousness. But on a deeper level, these people that give up the easy mindset are truly valiant.

"The Old Testament and the New Testament go well together". Kinda true, a far as that goes, but it's hardly surprising that a sequel goes well with a previous work it derives from. The Old and New Testaments are like The Fast and the Furious and Fast X: both involve original stories and sequels that expand on the original concept, but the problem is that in both cases the original wasn't really very good anyway.

@foxbutterfly-eden8715

He’s allowed back because he’s a good example of the kind of people that are out there that are trapped in a horrible state of mind. And it’s a chance to possibly shake him loose, difficult though it may be - it’s easy to lose hope these days, but don’t lose hope that people who desperately need to open their eyes will open them one day. He keeps calling in and putting himself in proximity to Reason - for all we know, this is him trying to find his way out. I’ve heard hosts describe why they take certain calls, including bad calls, and there’s a few reasons. One is to actually engage in debate. Another is to use the call as an educational tool for the viewer/listener. And to his credit, he has never ever been outright disrespectful. Uninformed and lacking in reason? Sure. But at least he’s tried to be respectful.

I really do feel sorry for Amanuel. He's stuck in this place of such intense fear that he can't ever ask a question that might lead to an answer outside of what he's been told to think. He's even scared to think that he might not burn forever for his thoughts, in case he burns forever for that. Plus, he apparently lacks sufficient education to know how to construct a solid argument or discern what is or isn't evidence. I don't think he's bad or stupid, just badly taught. Having said that, god damn, I feel like stabbing myself in the eye every time he calls in, because that would be less painful than listening to him verbally plugging the power strip into itself over and over.

I often wonder if atheists speak about what they perceive about God and His Word because they have been 'told what to think' by other atheists. Like faith, for instance. Every new decision to do something different - a new career, a move to another far-away location, even a marriage requires the acceptance - even embracing -of the unseen by faith. It's not until you actually 'step out' on those journeys that you discover the mysteries and joys (and sorrows) and trials and triumphs they present. John 3 16 invites you to know God's love and promise to you. If you have never experienced that before, it is a gift worth seeking by even the smallest amount of faith you can muster - enough to believe it's possible God exists!

@@wwlib5390 lol, I often wonder why you think I should believe what the bible says when it's so wrong about a lot of stuff? Also that's a nice bit of projection, because you believe what you've been indoctrinated into believing.

@@wwlib5390 Why would faith or the Bible have anything to do with making life decisions? You weigh the risks against the potential benefits, and you make a rational choice about what is most likely to be best for yourself and/ or your loved ones. Surely that's the same for atheists and theists of any variety. Sometimes it works out well and sometimes it doesn't, but the words of a 2000 year old book about a being that can't be proven to exist don't have any effect on the outcome. If they did, then there shouldn't be any Christians in unhappy marriages, or struggling financially, or any of the myriad other ways a person can suffer in life. If faith in a god's love is all it takes to make every choice have a positive outcome, then you shouldn't even have sorrows and trials. For most of us, the reason why we don't accept the supernatural claims of the Bible or any other scripture is simply lack of evidence. I wasn't told to think that by anyone else. I looked and didn't see any reason to believe in it. That's all.

@@mirandarensberger6919 Hi, thanks for replying. I didn't exactly SAY the Bible has anything to do with making life decisions (unless you are a Believer in God.) What I was trying to say was that so many times using faith to seek God as the Bible says is very often dismissed by atheists I talk with because faith is purported to be 'just wishful thinking not based in any reality'. But, faith is implemented by EVERYONE who makes a decision to step into the unknown - even by those who lack evidence for God. For me, to use your method, I saw such beauty and simplicity within complexity in the environment around me and thought 'there has to be a God'. So I sought Him through His Word and discovered to my satisfaction that there is indeed. I respect your conclusion that you don't see any reason to believe God exists. Have a good day.

@@wwlib5390 Thank you for respecting my lack of belief. I still take issue with your assertion that faith is necessary when stepping into the unknown. I would call it a calculated risk, combined with a dash of hope. To me, faith means believing something without a good reason. So saying that you have faith that a new job will be better than your current one, for example, really does sound to me like wishful thinking. In reality, you will have thought about whether the work will be more interesting or enjoyable; whether you will have longer hours or a longer commute, thus cutting into the time you have to spend with family and friends, volunteer work, hobbies, and relaxing; whether you will have more responsibilities and whether you want those responsibilities; and whether you will be making more money, thus likely reducing your anxiety about paying bills and having a secure retirement. Or maybe your current job is so unpleasant that you need to get away from it no matter what. In short, you make the decision based on the best information you have available. We may just be arguing semantics at this point, but to me that's not faith because you have good reasons for believing that you are making a good decision.

My catalyst towards deconversion of Christianity was after my third child was born. I wanted to know if Christianity was true and I went on pursuit to challenge it to see if it held up, I had to be honest with myself. I came out an atheist after about a year or more.

I've been exactly where Emanuel is. I was once afraid of dignifying anything that went against Christianity, believed it was the devil trying to lure me out for damnation. What worked for me was a few things; for one, I came up with a way to help curb confirmation bias. Basically anytime I seek answers to a question I sit down and write out my current position on the topic. I will then write what i will do if I find that I am correct, this is the easy part. The hard part comes up next where I write, down what i will do if I am wrong. This is hard because I must come up with something that I am actually ok with. It must align with something I could reasonably do and be at least ok with doing. With this I have less to be afraid of. Now, this is well and fine but it wasnt this method that worked, it was the fact that I couldnt get it to work. I have used this method many times without a struggle this intense. It was like there was a wall set up in my head that i kept slamming into. It wasnt difficult, it was impossible. The question itself that i was seeking answers to was "what is worst, hell or the holocaust". It was a question that should have been easy, but my mind wouldnt let me touch it. It wouldnt let me question gods goodness. I would like to emphasize that this question doesnt even touch the existance of god. It was hard, but long story short I did manage to tear that wall down. I did it by assuring myself that if god was good, the truth would lead me back to where i started. I prayed for protection from falshoods for months before I could actually take that first step. I think the fact that my deconstruction began with the question of hell- the source of my fear- everything else was quick to collapse just as I had realized how horrific hell was, and how only the most horrific of a god could create it and use it as a threat. The fear of hell and the love and adoration for the one who would subject me to it was load bearing, all that needed to happen was for me to wake up and realize I was the victim of stockholms syndrome

“A fool says in his heart there is no god” Cool then demonstrate this “god” exists, what this god actually IS, how it created anything, where it came from, how it operates, what it wants, where it is, what it looks like, and why it does what it does. As these calls show they can’t do that, so resort to speculative ignorance, irrelevant deflections, weird emotional hang ups, and trying to eliminate anyone who asks. Because when you know you can’t prove your religion is true, or even possible, removing any opposition means anything “could” be true! And then of course “WELL WHAT ABOUT” something political they heard.
