PGMOL and officials say that VAR is evolving each year but already this year we're getting worse decisions than last year. That's not evolution. I'm an Arsenal fan, but I'll two non-Arsenal examples just from this last weekend. Why wasn't Vicario carded for handling out of the area, instead the Brentford player and manager get carded for complaining? How does that work? Vicario clearly handled outside the area. West Ham not getting a penalty for a player held and then falling in the area, and that was at 2-0, I think? All 'checked' by VAR and cleared.

I rewatched the game today. Between the blow of the whistle and Trossard kicking the ball were about 0,5 to 0,7 seconds. Go and watch it again. Stop the time. He made the decision to clear the ball before he heard the whistle. He had no chance to change his mind in less than a second. It is an absolutely ridiculous, if not scandalous decision to punish a team for this to play with 10 men for a full half. Absolute nonsense. It seems as if referees WANT to be the taking point somehow. And it seems this kind of things are happening more often than not against Arsenal. Anyway, Man City had no recipe to score against 10 men in the regular time, scored in the 98th minute (even though injury time was just 7 minutes, but hey, it’s Man City, isn’t it?) the equaliser and celebrated a draw against 10 men as if they have won the league. Arsenal will win the league this year. Yesterday was a momentum shift.

Of course they preferred the way Liverpool played against them because it's an easier style for them to play against. When Liverpool went down to 10 men against them and tried to attack they lost 5-0, but its okay because Man city's moral compass was satisfied. Amazes me how Liverpool fans actually think he's gassing them up and be like "Yeah that's right! Like anyone sits here and goes "to be fair, credit to Liverpool for attacking city with 10 men" In 20 years time no one will be talking about how much gusto Liverpool had for attacking City in the matches they played, they'll remember that City won 6 titles and Liverpool won 1 the same way people remember Blackburn rovers winning 1 title during United's dominance

I'm guessing there are no complaints about being gifted a goal after the ref pulled Walker out of position then didn't allow him time to get back.

@@TheCoolistic 1. No team in the history of football has applied the dark arts more then city, the masters of time wasting, tactical fouling and crowding the referee. Hurts when it happens to you tho, doesn’t it? 2. The ball was in play for the longest it has ever been in any half so far this season in the 2nd half of that game. So not sure where you’re getting the time wasting delusion from. Facts state the complete opposite. 3. Rodri blocked Havertz path and then flopped to the ground play acting hurt like a 4 year old with a booboo within the first 3 seconds of the game, staying down for 4 min. Pathetic to then talk about other players going down with cramp. I guess it was karma that came back to bite him. 4. If you pause the frame when Partey takes the free kick you can clearly see that Walker is in line with the rest of the backline and facing the free kick, having jogged there. Not sure how much more times he needs to be ready or why on earth any other team should wait for him to switch back on after having switched off like an unprofessional. 5. If you think Raya held on to the ball for over 5 min, or let alone even close to 30 seconds, I’m sorry but you have severe time distortion syndrome that probably should be checked by a professional trained in the medical field. As a City supporter I think it's a huge reminder that there's still so much for us to work on, as there typically is at this stage in the season. Arsenal nearly did the smash and grab with a bit of dark arts, and they're entitled to go for that if they think it's a good way to get a result -- they nearly got 3 points from it. If you can stay organized like that after going up against City, it is one of the best ways to beat us, like a classic Mourinho-Pep matchup. I think Arsenal can play like that when they need to and I don't think City can. Both teams will be upset by the refereeing, I think Oliver clearly just wasn't up to the task for this match which is a shame. Injuries for both teams were also a bummer -- game would've been better with Rodri, KDB, and Odegaard of course. And it's still too early to know what it'll mean as far as the title race goes. If you're City you certainly celebrate that 98th minute goal though because it could be big in the long run. And it preserves the home unbeaten streak even when of course you'd rather win.

the whole idea that doku is irrelevant is a joke, the rule says the opposition players are not supposed to interfere with the restart, when you look at declan rice's red the ball was kicked at him, and he was taken out and still red carded. stop playing the PGMOL line and call it fair.

when a team is used to being dominant, it’s easy to see when they’ve been unsettled. success unavoidably changes reactions to struggle. the almost-casual, borderline-patronizing tone that city players and managers use when describing other clubs/squads disappeared here. they went straight for antagonism. the tone change comes from a combination of surprise that “business as usual” has been disrupted along with anger that a competitor would have the nerve to presume anything other than defeat. haaland is the biggest tell. he acts like the overgrown fetus that he is when he feels things aren’t going his way.

Every ultra competitive team would celebrate scoring in last seconds to get a point /points .. so it’s no difference here .. City bombarded the Arsenal goal the second half with their keeper outstanding… the game changed when Rodri went off injured… Arsenal done what they had to do.. not pretty but very effective.. this rivalry has been bubbling no doubt and if ya thing City going to lie down .. forget it… if you think City won’t attack at the Emirates..forget it .. we ain’t lying down .. Come on City

The rule can be like that "If a player is on yellow and he kicks the ball first time, he will be booked and will miss the next game" but for that specific game he will be allowed to play on, but if he does the same second time he will certainly have to leave the ground". What do you say

City under pep always starts the season at a slower pace because of how pep allows players to join the team way later than other teams. Usually these are the games where city drops points However, this season city have started well which is only going to make it harder for other teams to take the title away from city All these city players just know what they need to do at the business end of the season

You can tell City were rattled with the amount of moaning their players had after the game. Gundogan showed his experience by being the only one who talked about how they should've done better. Best to critcise yourself and your own team when you don't get the result you want. As a group they lacked class by not saying they should've broken down a 10-man team on their home ground.

It's a minor transgression, and I can't wrap around my head that PGMOL ruled that a red card should be meted out for such. I think an appropriate punishment should be a blue card, i.e., suspend the player for at least 10 minutes during the match. If he does it less than 10 minutes before the match is up, they are off.
@severnseaАй бұрын
Rattle Man City? What, by being gifted a goal by the ref by pulling Walker out of position then not giving him the chance to get back - if he's the best referee the PL can produce we're in trouble -then taking Rodri out possibly for the season (the elbow into his side in the first two seconds was clearly deliberate, very easy to see from the camera view behind the goal, we don't know if that had any effect on the later clash with Partey but the mentality seemed to be "We've lost our centre half for several weeks so we need to even the odds). Then they spend the second half like a team desperate to avoid relegation, and spending half of that time on the floor? You're deluded if you think that's a team that can challenge Man City for the title. The assault by Trossard - there's no other word for it - was a red on it's own without kicking the ball away even being a factor. I get the desperate defending in the second half with 10 men, but to lie on the floor every 2 minutes was a joke, again aided and abetted by the ref who stopped the game on a number of occasions when he had no valid reason to. Every team does a bit of timewasting but Arsenal took it to a whole new level. Bottom line is you tried to rattle City and make them lose it, possibly hoping to get one of their players sent off, but they held their nerve, saw right through it and stopped you getting the points. 2 points dropped again.

@@mazzarati5009 Yeah, writing more than a few coherent words isn't that difficult for most of us, you should try it sometime. Anybody that loves football should be rattled by watching a side cheat their way through 90 minutes. I totally agree with the comment, they looked like a team trying to avoid relegation on the last day and were using desperate measures. Funny how people are condoning City for the alleged 115 yet think cheating on the pitch is perfectly acceptable. Whatever you may think, it's not football. But that's why City have won 4 in a row and Arsenal haven't won anything.
