Incredible how much was inaccurate during the opening statement. West Ham did the majority of our business before the window started. Saturday's team had 4 new signings not 7. It was not the worst defensive performance during the last five years. That was Arsenal 6-0 or Fulham 5-0 last season. There was a plea for Lopetegui to get time because he was a new manager and had new managers then a direct comparison was made to two other managers who are also new but don't seem to have struggled with new players or tactics.

But while the club has an owner who CANNOT give up control to a director of football. Then nothing will change on and off the pitch. All the club has done is exchanged Moyes. People seem very quick to say this guy is an upgrade on David Moyes. But Moyes is the most successful West Ham manager since John Lyall in the 80s. Also, Moyes has a very long and successful career in the Premier League. Why is it people think he is so easy to improve upon? Everton have not had the sustained performance he achieved there despite spending huge sums, so maybe he is a better manager than a lot of people think.

Disagree with John: continuity of manager is exactly what we got. JL is just a younger version of DM? Strikes me that the D of F didn't get the final say on the manager. There are rumours that he wanted Amorim, but Sullivan refused to have an inexperienced PL manager. Steidten is likely very aware that JL is very similar to DM, yet the players picked up are not JL/DM type players. I believe Sullivan may have stepped back from transfers, but still has the call when it comes to a manager. That is dysfunctional.

Anyone with intelligence said this last year when Moyes was announced to leave. Fans just wanted some new and shiny, which is fine. But regardless of whether West Ham parks the bus, or tries a bit of tippy-tappy. They always be a club that'll fight for Europe and then drop to fight relegation in cycles. Because they're fundamentally not super rich, nor the most attractive club in London. It's easy to go "careful what you wish for" etc etc. but a drop would've eventually happened under Moyes or any other manager. All that differs is the criticism.

Letting JWP a fantastic dead ball specialist go on loan to another premier league club is beyond stupid. @freakydeaky1435Ай бұрын
tell me you don't know anything about west ham, without telling me you don't know anything about west ham. We didn't force Moyes out because of the "boring football" that was a narrative entirely invented by his friends in the media. We wanted Moyes gone because: 1) he didn't play any of the talented youngsters we had at the club, we came top of the u21s, with one of the best youth teams in the country/world, yet they never recieved minutes and weren't given suitable loans. There were times when he brazenly threw cup games, eg away at Liverpool in the Caraboa cup, yet even then he would field aged squad players rather than the youngsters that needed minutes. This resulted in them leaving to rivals (e.g sonny perkins to leeds, Ashby to newcastle, Mubama to City, Johnson wherever he went). 2) He repeatedly ignored the sports science, particularly when it came to the use of substitutions, we conceded a disproportionately high number of goals in the last 15 minutes, an obvious explanation of which is that we gave substitutes some of the least minutes in the league, in spite of competing in Europe. Relatedly: 3)He repeatedly alluded to wanting a small squad, even though there was money there to spend he reportedly vetoed nearly all the players that our director of football attempted to sign, whilst simultaneously allowing players to leave, that's how we ended up with only 14 first team players left by the time we finally saw the back of him. 4)His man management was so poor, and the degree of favouritism so strong that there were rumours of players asking him how they could get in the team and him giving them 0 encouragement with a closed door policy. Even when players were having bad games, we would never, ever give the squad players a chance. Many of these players, eg: Haller, Hernandez, Flynn Downes.. etc have subsequently gone on to do well when they left. 5) the results in the league in the last 2 seasons were dreadful.. we came 14th in the season before last and last year there really was no improvement, we just got lucky in a few games, we conceded our worst ever number of premier league goals (over like 27 seasons we've been in the prem and INCLUDING the two times we were relegated). Looking at the expected points table we finished 14/15th (i forget which). Letting Moyes go was a totally obvious decision, he was AWFUL.
