Tamagotchi Gen 1 & Gen 2 re-release

I saw the gen 1 at Gamestop! Of course, I wanted one! I'd always wanted one as a child, but circumstances didn't allow. My childhood excitement welled up seeing them on the shelf. "I'm the adult decisions now!" I thought to myself. They had only 3 color choices, but the red glitter with yellow accents looked just right. Now my little blob is 3 days old. I found an old lanyard to put it on so the little fella is always with me. Huzzah for childhood dreams being realized no matter how old you are!

@Void Alone they are like original ones, with basic functions like feed, turn on/off lights, game (different in p1 and p2), medical treatment when it gets sick, clean poop, check status to know that your Tama needs and discipline when it deserves, in this re release they made the raise part a little bit tricky than the original so you'll keep busy by tryin to raise your Tama, is a middle point between the 20th anniversary and the connections, still fun to play but less demanding,

@@suktoescom15 gen 1 is the same than P1 witch means programation 1 that refers to the first evolution line, the first mini game, the first game over screen and the first set of icons for the menu, V1 or simply Tamagotchi connection refers to the first Tamagotchi connection that came out, this doesn't have the suffuxe "V1" due to there wasn't other versions then, the suffixe is applied from the V2 and subsequents programations releases.

I got those same two shells. I couldn't resist the galaxy one. As far as the sound goes, the sound is transmitted differently from the originals; instead of being through a wire soldered to the sound chip, they're transmitted through a pair of coils. If your sound seems off, I recommend taking it apart from the back and seeing if the coils are bent or otherwise out of place.

Oooh, looks like you got unlucky because I bought the galaxy tama and it sounds okay, I didn’t knew the chains were plastic I better be careful. I also noticed that these tama runs faster and respond better than the 90’s one when I played them both, maybe it’s just me.

@@AtlanticRaven actually i've ran these tamas before, they don't die if you feed them snacks, they just get fatter and doesn't let you get the good evolutions (plus you can feed them snacks as babies since it doesn't affect the evolution or weight) only the game boy tamas die quickly if you feed them snacks.

I know how to activate the sound and system test on both. Sound test: A + C + RESET There are 17 sounds you can play. System test: B + C + RESET Press A, then B, then C. Then it will tell you what version it is running. Then there is numbers, just wait a while then the numbers will then appear on the black box above. Then press a to go back to play mode.

As a child of the 1990's I was only interested in the Giga Pets as really I had no real knowledge about the tamagotchi's despite Giga Pets being released around the same time but now as a 33 year old I feel like now more then ever is it time to explore the life of a tamagothchi. Notice how the re-release versions’ beeps sound a little different than the original, albeit very similar. Also, the start minigame sound is a bit faster. Besides, I have the Purple/Pink P1 and Colorful Leopard P2.

My P1 came with a metal ball chain. The screen looks quite dim unless I hold it at the right angle. not sure if they’re all like this or just mine. I think they could have added a backlight this day and age. I know it’s supposed to be an exact reproduction but I don’t think a light would have taken away from that much.

Maybe it’s because I have the Gen 1 & Gen 2 special SDCC 2018 exclusive Tamagotchis but the chains on mine are metal. I love the metallic look of the convention exclusive ones, more than most of the regular new shells. That said the Galaxy shell you have is awesome! I’m so happy Tamagotchi is back. My childhood!!

Hi, i still have a gen 1 tama but I did find the speaker wonky, also after non-use for a while dead, it seems to be constantly resetting. It's not the slowing down beep but just 1 long beeeeeep like pressing A and C but it's just sat in a drawer or next to me or in my hand.

Bandai are REALLY frustrating me... Each time they ’re-issue’ Tamagotchi, they ‘claim’ it’s just the same as it was before; but first we get those tiny and boring little things, where they did away with the Menus etc., and were WAAAY smaller; now we have these, which don’t have metal chains, and cheaper quality shells/speakers... What is it with these companies!??? Why must they change things and claim things that aren’t true? If it works - don’t fix it! It’s clear from all the complaints from hard-core fans that people still want and are waiting the ORIGINAL PLEASE BANDAI IF YOU ARE LISTENING OUT THERE!!!

There's no breeding in this one like the Connection series. It's a rerelease of the old original models from the 90's.

Oh OK. If you want to know how to pause the game it’s also in the instructions if you don’t have it. But I’ll type it for you. " When you need to be away from Tamagotchi character for an extended period of time, it is possible to suspend the life cycle. Push the B button to bring up the timer, push the A and C buttons simultaneously so that the word “SET “ appears. While “SET” is on the screen, all functions are paused. To resume play, reset the timer to the correct time, Push the C button and return to the regular life cycle. " I have the Gen 1 also, and I kept the instructions, So I would know everything. So what I typed, it was from the instructions I had for the Tamagotchi. I hope it helps you.
