The only band I believe that has ever used a empty beer keg and bat as a musical instrument.

What’s to say the keg is empty? You can get different tones with different amounts of beer in there.

And they do it so well. Clown rocks

Both at same time true. Have seen empty beer keg and basket to be used as instrument. Though weirdest musical instrument so far has to be ring binder, being shoved own box.

If I remember right when they recorded this Corey had damaged his voice from the second album and had to change his style to this. By the time the 4th album rolled around he relearned how to do his original screams in a healthy way, someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. Also, I’ve seen Slipknot 5 times live and each time Clown has lit that baseball bat on fire and it’s amazing to watch him beat the crap out of that keg 😁
@hermunkulus2 жыл бұрын
Correct. He got vocal lessons with Melissa Cross to change his style. The screaming on the first two albums was not sustainable long term. Lots of people complain about the change in style, but there are reasons behind that. Numerous vocalists have fallen into this trap and had to readjust (Matt Heafy, Jesse Leach, Matt Shadows, etc).

@@sammiebray1661 Yea Matt Heafy had big problems with his voice, In an interview with Loudwire (I think it was Loudwire) he basically said that when the band was coming together he was the youngest and they couldn't find a vocalist so all the other members who were all older than Matt said "Matt you do vocals" and so he did... But he had no idea how to do it and from that moment he was kind of doomed. As mentioned above though, he got it sorted and he's golden now!

this is the only song of theirs that will make me cry, I'm wiping the tears off my eyes and keyboard typing this, this song in particular saved my life on numerous occasions just from the sheer pain i was in, all of their songs have a meaning that i can pull from my miserable existence on this earth and i can never thank this band enough for getting me through the darkest of nights and the most torturous of days. I would not be here had a friend of mine not turned me on to this band. I appreciate you saying that you would love someone like me who could never deserve your presence. You are loved by me and the entire maggot army!

After I first heard this song when I was younger, I knew then and there I had to find out more about this band. Corey and the band always wanted people to love the music for what it was. Even when record labels told them they never make it, well they proved them all wrong. This is why I went out of my way to make sure I have a drum skin with the whole band signed on to it (including Paul and Joey). I always look at it and remind myself that you can always achieve things in life if you work for it.

@@CharisSellick We had to be at a school in Des Moines at 5:30am and got on a bus to the house and the staff were getting high strung with how wild we all were and everyone got to take turns to go into the house and be with the band, during a break Sid looked at me and a couple of others and said follow his lead so during a break he yelled hog pile on Corey. Corey was super funny and jumped in line and was acting all rock star about having to use the fan port potty. Joey knew my name pretty quick and said Hi to me and Corey looked at me and said Joey likes being called short shit so Joey stood on his tip toes and said do it and I'll kill you and just laughed. Mick's guitar hit me in the face and he looked at me and said HAHA you can't sue me. Couldn't bring cameras with and cell phones didn't have them then so no pictures but it was cold, rainy and a long day but the memories of hanging with the band and I got a signed shirt out of it and you can actually see me in the video. There was the local news interviewing the band and fans. So much damage was done to that house. Craig's nail poked me in the shoulder and that hurt he just smiled. Everyone was super cool and telling my job at the time to F off to be in a video was well worth it. Got to the house around 7am after two busses shuttling people back and forth and got back to the school around 8pm.
