I agree! I’ve checked out plenty of Broadway musicals with an amazing score and an incredible cast on and off stage (on KZbin, because I don’t live in New York), and they are super respectful, but you can’t just perform whenever you want. I say this as a hard core musical theater kid, choir kid, and band kid. To the above comment, I respectfully disagree. There are plenty of non operatic musicals that are the opposite of unserious, and a lot of the lyrics are relevant to real life. And the ones that are unserious are a good and healthy way to have fun, especially if it has a good score.

As someone currently majoring in theater, yes. There are two different species, the performance people and the tech people. Don't get me wrong, the tech people don't exclusively do tech and the performance people don't exclusively do performance, but those are the two genres. The tech are quieter, not as obnoxious, and less weird. The performance are the ones who are singing in drive thrus and public spaces for attention.

as a tech kid, yeah that’s pretty accurate. though the tech people i work with are weird but they’re chill lol
@pl4net4ry2 жыл бұрын
@@vampsbones3861 I didn't say they weren't weird. Everyone is kind of weird in theater.

as a theatre kid who is literally going to theatre school right now. theatre people are either very chill and cool or the most annoying people in the world and there is almost no in between

as someone whos done theatre for a long time i never really understood the whole theatre kid thing until highschool 😭😭 everyone suddenly got really loud and obnoxious and i slowly huddled back into my techie hole

Really ironic that the non actor was a better actor than the theater kids were detectives lol

Crossing other people's boundaries (like ''''Daddy Willy 69'''' did, wtf bro ever heard of consent) and generally being obnoxious in public isn't cool, but other than that I really like theatre kids. I was a band kid who also took art so we kind of ran in the same (GAY) circles. I find that their flamboyance, accepting vibes, and friendliness spark joy. I hope those of them who don't cause genuine harm and are reading these comments don't feel too hurt by the "they are evil and should die"-type comments.
