The fact that she doesn’t fully resent Medusa, and openly said that she wishes for her to get better and that she learned from her, is something that I think is really cool.
@TheWeirdkid_6410 ай бұрын
Yes and I assume this is because of the fact that Medusa’s unstable personality was most likely not purposeful and/or outside of her own control, and maybe even had a mental disorder/condition. I have had personal experiences of dealing with people that are extremely unstable and/or delusional (one of the biggest examples was my own mother) and the majority of them where either unaware or unable to control of their own behaviour
@ulfberht44318 ай бұрын
It also shows that, the less of a grudge you have on someone like Medusa, the stronger you are. Hate and resentment are very powerful drugs but like all drugs they carry side effects: stress, anxiety, narcissism, a very low level dignity, loss of pride and many other things. Besides, that’s what the person wants you to feel. They want you to become them so they can feel more secure. But rather than do that, show them that you do not resent them or hate them to the degree they want and they will feel weak, defenceless and ashamed. Hopefully it’ll change their ways but if not then you’ll happy knowing that they are not as threatening or as powerful as you thought. And when they are old and grey, they’ll be senile.

when fired, there are two options. Either you're given the option to resign, which you dont get a smudge on your record, but you dont get unemployment pay. Bosses often try to get you yor resign so they dont have to pay unemployment and severance pay.

FOURTH QUARTER: i am cast as the lead female role in an amazing play... THE PLAY IS CANCELLED FOR NO APPARENT REASON AT ALL. I ask her why she cancelled the play.... these were her exact words: “i got scared you wouldn’t be able to live up to the part considering how nervous you seemed.” i was honestly pissed, but i could see where she was coming from. i was fidgety and unfocused that week because the play was all i could worry about. i’ve convinced myself that the cancellation of the play was for the better 😥
@rvk15226 жыл бұрын
carry me to victory what? Sorry hear that. Its not your fault. Everyone gets nervous before going onto a stage, but it shouldn't be the reason for the cancelation. Keep on doing what you love. Don't blame yourself for that

Keep this in your head, "The show must go on." If you're a big theatre kid, then you know this. If she were a true producer/director and felt that way, she would've either replaced you or just had a talk with you. She, of all people, should know that nervousness is normal. You'll be fine once you get up there and you would even be able to see them because of the lights! It's a pretty absurd thought to blame yourself. Nervousness only makes you better.

I hated drama in high school because my high school drama club was LITERALLY like a cult. These kids were MEAN. They were rude, if you were quiet and anxious they would yell at you, if you were a stage hand they treated you like shit. They literally just hated any newcomers. I was in one play and NEVER went back to drama. It sucked so badly. I only got a part because another girl ended up in the hospital (mental hospital) and I had a loud voice and colored hair. That's the ONLY reason I ended up in that play.

I mean that's technically the point. A institution will usually tell their employees which they want to fire, to resign instead, and if they don't they'll be fired. It's because if you resign, it'll look better on your resume when you go get another job rather than being fired. Oh my god, there was this one lunch lady in my elementary school who was extremely similar, at least the favoritism part and the manipulative evil part. This lady would "hire" fourth and fifth graders to work in the cafeteria. This wasn't really allowed, but she did it anyway. And only the popular kids ever got the job. At the time, I usually spent lunch with my friends who were in the Special Needs class and almost never my own classmates. And also my family didn't have much money and i took out lunches sometimes when my parents wanted me to bring lunch from home, so sometimes my lunch account ended up with a negative balance. She *hated* me. She didn't like the special needs teacher, either, who stood up for me when she did things like impose rules on who could buy ice cream when without saying ANYTHING. Literally, one day I just wanted to buy a cheap ice cream cone that the school sold at lunches and she wouldn't let me because all of a sudden there was a "timeframe" to buy ice cream in within lunch and i had "missed it." No one else knew about this rule, she just suddenly decided to impose it. And the worst was after Christmas one year, when I had gotten like thirty bucks in Christmas money. I put in a big yellow wallet that some family member had given me and very excitedly took it to school. I went to either buy ice cream or pay for my lunch, I don't remember, but she took one look and apparently decided I STOLE THE WALLET. She demanded i hand it to her, which i did even though it wasn't nearly within her rights to demand MY wallet, looked at the contents which purely consisted of my thirty dollars, and MARCHED MY DOWN TO THE *OFFICE* while lecturing me about how my parents owed money for my lunch account. She made the office lady call home and confirm that it was mine. The office lady was super nice, and made the evil lunch lady begrudgingly give me whatever I had been trying to buy. I'll never forget it, I was crying my eyes out the whole time. And *boy* did she get an earful from both my parents and from the special needs teachers and lunch bosses. I was so happy to go to middle school purely for the fact that I wouldn't be dealing with her again.

thats so sucky and SO dumb, like lady, if you want to sell ur lunches sell the damn lunches you idiot, don't put restrictions on who can buy them. Sorry you had to go through that, when I was going to school I always brought lunches from home or nothing cus I couldnt afford them (most often I brought nothing cus my bacjpack was full and I didnt enjoy having cold food or smells in my bag, so me and my brother would usually just have breakfast and eat when we were back home)

She pretty much copped an attitude with an elementary kid over the school's lunches, of which doesn't cost the woman a dime. She's paid to serve lunches, that's it. If the student owed money, that's to be addressed with the parents and if a credit limit on free lunches/items had been reached, explain that privately and professionally, not embarrassing a child in front of everyone. Sounds like this was someone who hated kids in a role that involved them and should've quit twenty years ago.

We even got the option to participate in a small 10 ish minute play that I immediately signed up for. Best part was I got to be one of the main villains. I remember that me and my friend (who’s character had 0 lines) were the two people who worked the hardest on that show and to this day I still have all of my lines (plus a few other characters lines) memorized. But on the day of performing that backfired on me because I accidentally said one of the other characters lines at the very beginning instead of my line. I had a P.E. teacher who practically targeted me. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis (the stuff in the legs), so I couldn't run for long periods of time. She would make us run for 3 minutes (which was my limit at the time before I got stronger) and 1 minute of walking. It got to a point where I collapsed on the floor, but instead of helping and being caring, she kept yelling at me to get up! I don't know what I did to her, but she continued to target me, and no one else. It got to a point where I told my mom about this, and she was FURIOUS! After a parent teacher conference, she was fired. We got a new P.E. teacher who was actually like a caring person! He even gave me an award at the end of the school year! I do see my old P.E. teacher every once and a while, and I stayed cleared of her as much as I can. Thanks for reading!

I just remember that there was like only 4 lanes to my class, and it was confusing if which one was mine because they all looked super similar, and the pillar of the school was just an huge mess, and the worst part was that the principal was complete bullshit, like actually, she literally doesn't care about anything when we first actually spoken too her the first time about something, all she said was " OK " and didn't EVEN TRY TO DO SOMETHING. thank god we got her fired, because that principle was just an bad example. and now the school is kinda like an church / school now? I don't know its an complete mess.

Hell, being cast in the role could've helped you socialize with them more and build up your confidence to make more friends. I'm so glad you left. You're in a much better place now. You're so much fun to watch and listen to. Your voice acting and singing is amazing. Hope your teacher is doing okay though. She looks like she had major issues to deal with.

Candy Zuniga I know right! I’m still in school right now and I have a teacher with this same kind of logic. The only thing that is keeping this teacher out from getting fired is that she can easily manipulate what she has done to a student and that most of the teachers students have “learning issues” so they can’t stand up for themselves. So, I am counted as a student with “learning issues” the monument that I’m left alone with this teacher I would be immediately be scolded at every little mistake I made and this teacher would never said anything to help improve on those mistakes . Once my parents noticed I was finally was rid of that teacher but many other students where not so lucky.As once I got away this teacher would try to figure out that a student was trying to leave then this teacher would act nice to all the students and wait till that student seem ok to only go back to them rude self.

Sadly, I think drama teachers getting sucked into only choosing the pretty popular students is all too common. I'm surprised my drama teacher noticed enough about me to have anything to put into my yearly reports. I had to drop drama by 5th form as I couldn't justify a subject that clearly wasn't going to get me anywhere. I've spent most of my life thinking I must have been terrible at acting and it's only been recently with getting involved in drama projects at church (our vicar used to study at drama school) that I'd ever actually gotten encouragement in drama. People compliment me and I have a hard time believing it.

It's almost impossible to negotiate with them and the best option is almost always to leave. I'm glad you did. Also guys please stop commenting that it could be bipolar disorder and do the bare minimum research on bipolar disorder. Manic highs and depressive lows. Not switching from approval to anger. Something similar happened to me not too long ago either. My school is doing a production of Cinderella, and for some context, I'm a junior and have been in the past two productions my school has done, those being Annie get your Gun and Strange Days at Summer Camp. Of course the roles are usually given out based on Seniority, but my first role ended up having a lines, meaning my choir director (who directs all the high school productions) had plans for me. During this time she also had a co-director, however she ended up having to step down due to her health and unfortunately passed away a few weeks before casting for Cinderella. Now we have a new co-director, which is important to note. SDASC happens, I get the exact role I wanted for that one, and then we get to Cinderella. I do the audition and make it to callbacks, and everything was going great. All the girls had to sing 'In My Own Little Corner' for auditions, and people complimented me left and right, and I was so confident (probably too confident) and they decided the cast the same night so we didn't have to wait long. Now I knew I wasn't going to be Cinderella, but I really wanted to be the Stepmother anyways. Then we find out the cast and I don't even have a role. Now usually, I wouldn't have cared, I mean you can't make them all, but a certain name was on there I didn't ignore: the co-director's daughter. Now don't get me wrong, the choreographer's daughter was cast as well, but the difference is that she can actually sing and act, the co-director's daughter is not good at singing, she's OK at acting, and it's clear to everyone that nepotism was to play here because the Co-director does this with *everything*, she even tried to make her work on the 7th & 8th yearbook even though she's a sophomore. It was later made clear after the choir director retired and from what the choreographer was saying, the Co-director refused to let anyone else do casting other than herself, and I was furious. The sheer audacity of this woman. And so I quit, I didn't care. Coincidentally, the community players we're holding auditions that weekend and so out of sheer hatred I went to those auditions. I was already thinking about doing community, but never really took it seriously, but this literally pushed me over the edge. I ended up being so much happier with this, I ended up getting a leading role, we had our production over the summer, I even had the confidence to do improv, something I would've never done out of fear of the Co-director getting pissed at me. I actually loved it! Going into the school year I had a choice of either coming back to Cinderella or auditioning for Elf the Musical, and you can imagine what I picked. Cinderella is having its show next week, and I can't wait to see how it turns out, but honestly Elf was the better decision for me.

I had a similar experience in a summer acting camp where my onstage mother was played by a 9 year old and I was 18 at that time. Made it awkward when she had to hug me and I had to hug her leg.
