Seriously thank you for this, I have trawled YT and the internet for the last two days trying to figure out Multi Mode on the M1 on my Mac and you have done this for me brilliantly, thank you so much 😊

Here is an important distinction between modes. I know this video has been out for some time, but I wanted to add a tip for those interested in this terrific emulation. Combi mode is designed for splitting and layering 8 sounds on the same midi channel, like traditional split and layering. Multi mode is different. It offers 8 part multitimbrality, which means you can have 8 patches each on a different midi channel. This essentially makes it a standalone “workstation.” As in, 8 individual tracks all being sequenced simultaneously on different midi channels. A hardware or software sequencer is all you need. Working in a daw makes running multiple instances easy enough. But you can also do this with a single instance routed to 8 individual midi tracks. Or standalone. That’s pretty impressive. Give it a try for instant 90’s throwback film scores or dance tracks. Those piano and organ sounds are badass.

I use iM1 for a lot of the sounds in my other videos but its never featured. I thought I would show it some love.

I am glad I could help. iM1 is a lot deeper than people realize. So much potential for sound design and other things.

Thanks for this. Very helpful. I've just started to poke a little deeper into this app lately myself. Crazy how good it sounds and what you can do with it and a lot of the new iOS based synths. What's bad is, I just bought an OB-6 and it's been getting neglected because I'm having so much fun rediscovering the iM1 app.

I didn't realize how deep iM1 could go either. Just started fiddling around with it and was blown away that its just not a bunch of presets that you cant change. you can change all sorts of stuff. Thanks for watching.

Nice, so much depth in iM1. I like to play Fugue Machine into it using separate channels for each play head.

Exactly, that is one of my favorite things to do as well. And now that Xynthesizr is getting Link, there is going to be even more fun to be had with it.

Thanks so much, finally I can use this app. Do you have a tutorial for AudioLayer, I'm just about to deletle it from my Ipad. Thanks and more power to you.

M1 is a great app. I think I do have something on AudioLayer. I used it at first and it is a great concept but I usually have more issues with it than its worth. Although I know some people love it.

Yes, I was overlooking a lot of the things it could do. I am going to keep exploring it to see what interesting I can find.

Helpful, thanks! Any chance you've explored the iWavestation, too?:)

I have not bought iWavestation yet. I do have the plugin on my mac, which may be why I have not bothered with it in my iPad yet. I will look into it though.

Multi and combi are exactly the same except for the routing of the effects just before getting out. One gives you the ability to balance wet and dry and the other is simply one path. I don't know if you noticed but each track can have 1 instrument or 2 instruments and I don't mean by changing the channel of 2 tracks. You can also adjust the level of each track, not only the velocity. Try tapping that thing just under the "settings". Im1 gives you so much control, it's nuts. If you try the double instruments for a track and hear nothing from the second instrument, play with the envelopes. The default envelope setting for the second instrument is stupid because there is no sound. It's a great synth but not for soneone not into taking time to learn it. Once you get it, it's fantastic. Have fun.

Thanks for the Tips. I just shot another video going into detail on that. It will be upload sometime soon. I may mass produce a few videos today while I am in the video making zone.
