Baked Salmon Pupcakes and Pupuccino Recipe

Today we’re celebrating Ariel the Cavalier’s birthday at the farm. Poor Ariel was hospitalised at the end of last year and has since been on a very strict diet. She can eat salmon and so today we attempted to make our Tea Pawty Pupcakes with salmon not chicken, lamb or beef. We haven’t made them before, so I wasn’t sure they’d turn out but I think they came out quite well. I thought I’d share the recipe with everyone for those that might have a dog that can only eat fish.
Recipe:
800gm to 1kg of fresh Salmon
Half a butternut pumpkin
Lactose free milk or goats milk for the pupuccino froth
Method:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius (356 F) fan forced.
Blend salmon whole in blender.
Skin will peel off but not break up in blender, making it easy to separate and place on lined baking tray.
Make small balls out of salmon mixture and place on lined baking tray.
Bake for 20-30 mins until golden
Boil or microwave peeled and cubed pumpkin until soft then mash for pupcake frosting.
Blend/crush crispy salmon skin in blender.
Make froth with lactose free milk and serve in small cup. Dust top with crushed crispy salmon.
Frost pupcakes with pumpkin mash.
Serves approximately 35-40 individual pupcakes, one pupuccino.

There is no effort too great when it comes to the dogs in your care.....Ariel is going to love her special pupcake and drink as it was created with all the love and special attention to her dietary needs. And salmon skin dust for garnish was a stroke of culinary genius!

Hi Sam and Luke I just can't get enough of all your videos. There is not a day or night that I don't need to get my fill of what you guys get up to on a daily basis. Even my little girl Juno who is a Cattle x English Staffy she sits behind me and looks at my computer screen from afar. And starts barking like crazy when she sees all the Pappus as we call them here in Gosford hopefully one day we are able to allow Juno to spend some quality at your farm. I am sure she would love to play with all the friendly Puppus that come to visit including Cutie Pie! and Bandit! on a daily basis. Not that I am bragging but Juno has the most beautiful nature I think any dog could ever have! The reason I mentioned to you about the skinless salmon is that I cannot eat any fish with the skin on, anyway must go NOW!!! I need to get my fill of all the Puppas for today.

I think Ariel will be happy with these salmon patties. Your assistant today is much smaller than your usual one, Bandit. Does distraction training work with many dogs when food is concerned? Not sure it would work with Labrador’s though. They look very yummy, I am with Luke be lovely with a salad. Thanks for the recipe, I might try these with my boys, not they are at all fussy. 2 cups of oatmeal 2 cups of peanut butter, a big already baked sweet potato, smashed, shredded carrot, and 1/3 cup coconut oil. I roll it out either and shape into 2×2 or I use a cookie cutter, and cut that whole cookie in half. So like a half moon shape. Then bake for 25 min at 350° . Give sparingly. Keep in fridge for 2 weeks. Makes anywhere from 40 to 60 if you happen to add more peanut butter. A lot of dogs can't really have grain so make sure your pup is okay with an occasional treat. Oh and if you like a 2 to 3 tablespoons of maple syrup.
