I love Colorado. I did a winter season in Aspen 20 years ago and would really like to get back there someday during the riding season. I did ride a MTB down the Pikes Peak road in 1995 though - that was cool.

Watch the Clint Gibbs video on the trance 2 review. He's spot on by saying that it's at the apex of diminishing returns in terms of spending more $$$ for what you get in return in terms of performance. Trance 2 is the best bang for buck.
@TheAverageMTBGuy6 жыл бұрын
+Ad stern totally agree. Straight out of the box, the Trance 2 is fantastic value for money. It’s a fantastic climber, does well on descents once your suspension is dialled in and can easily be pedalled for long XC journeys. I would like a carbon one but can’t justify the cost!

Great video. Funny too (probably unintentional which makes it even funnier). Might have me sold on the SB6 😍

Did you end up getting the SB6?
@meenboli4 жыл бұрын
@@TheAverageMTBGuy It's hanging up in my local store - I'm playing the I want it but I don't really need it game, which is true as I've got too many bikes already - if that's possible! (I've made an offer for them to stew on). It's been in the shop for 3 months now so hopefully they will cave in before too long! 👍👍👍

update: pick it up in a week! 😬

Yeti is a beauty - like always pay for what you get. Always comes down to components. Buy cheap,pay twice. My only problem with the top end bikes,gotta lot of good riders that are not pro. Bike prices out of control.

Nice video but man your suspension on your trance looked super stiff!
@TheAverageMTBGuy7 жыл бұрын
+mtb_d4n yeah it was. After riding the Yeti I decided to get it sorted later on and it’s better now
@diego_g22286 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree it did look like a lot of vibration and stiffness! Reset your air pressure front and rear 👍
@TheAverageMTBGuy6 жыл бұрын
I did that a little while ago and now got it pretty dialed. Thanks Diego!

I demo'd sb 6 sb5 sb5 plus sb 6 too long sb5 liked but not enough suspention settled on a sb5 lunch ride with sram components 36 factory up front and dpx2 with piggy back. And it's the lighter carbon
@TheAverageMTBGuy7 жыл бұрын
Nice! That suspension setup is great. Enjoy riding it!

Built the LR before Yeti came out with it! Love, but am still itching for a little a little bit more travel... want to try the 6 and 5.5, but I’m 5”9 135lbs... Any thoughts?
@TheAverageMTBGuy6 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeff, you must be hitting some big stuff to be wanting more travel. Im sure the SB6 would handle more than most mortals could throw at it! And the 5.5 would eat up flow trails. Maybe chat with a suspension expert to see what could be done.
@flacktastic216 жыл бұрын
Ya, mostly the rear feels a little short travel wise. I kind of ride all the down hills like I’m on a DH bike / DH Trail ! I’m sure some suspension fine-tuning would help wonders! Thanks, great videos btw

"Trapped the young players" 4:02. Is that a local euphemism for nuts?
@TheAverageMTBGuy6 жыл бұрын
“A trap for young players” is something that would catch out the less-wise and over-enthusiastic! I can’t remember if it’s an actual saying or whether my mates and I made it up when we were young.

Great vidéos, I watched sb5.5 too. It seems that you are more faster on sb6, you have more control. Maybe because it is 27'5. By the way you were on Large sb5.5 and médium on sb6. How tall are you ? Could you try 2018 ibis HD4 ?thank you
@TheAverageMTBGuy7 жыл бұрын
Hi Paquita, thanks for watching. I'm 173cm tall and the large SB5.5 seemed to be very comfortable for me. Maybe if I was in a bike park doing jumps the medium would suit better but the large felt good on those trails I was riding. I didn't have the courage to do jump on a bike that expensive! I don't think the Ibis HD4 is available here in New Zealand yet - if I can get hold of one I will gladly give it a try!! I am putting up part 3 of the Yeti demo day later today with comments from other riders so keep a look out for it.
@paquitalysao92057 жыл бұрын
The Average MTB Guy, thank you. Hd4 is avalaiable in auckand with hyperformance. My heart balance between sb6 and hd4 as I can not demo those bikes. I would like to thank you guy like you who made review like this awsome job. I am 180 cm, I could choose médium or large frame for sb6, do you have an advice. Sorry for my english I am French.
@TheAverageMTBGuy7 жыл бұрын
Wow, thanks a great compliment, merci beaucoup! For your height I would be looking at a large frame at least. The best way is to get yourself on one if possible. And don't apologise for your english, it is a lot better than my French! :)
@TheAverageMTBGuy7 жыл бұрын
Hi Paquita, I have just enquired with Hyperformance about testing the Ibis HD4 and there's only one available at the moment and its quite booked up. I'll get hold of it sometime - just don't know when. I may be able to ride a Mojo3 in the meantime. Subscribe to the channel and follow me on FB to keep in touch with whats going on. Cheers!

Do you like giant trance 2?
@TheAverageMTBGuy6 жыл бұрын
Very much. It’s a great versatile bike for the price. There’s a couple of upgrades needed to be done to start - the dropper post lever and the grips - and then you can make other upgrades as you go along like I have done.
