I've made non paper no sew kitchen towels simply by cutting a flannel sheet on the bias, the edges just get a lovely soft chenille edge after washing.

Best tutorial I have found! Love that you went through all the things you didn’t like. I was debating 1 layer vs. 2 layer. You answered all my questions

So would you suggest 2 layers of flannel? Or 1 flannel and 1 terry cloth? Those I have on hand… thank you.

So if it doesn’t fray no sew needed with zigzag scissors - I was just wondering since the video says so sew and you did a lot of sewing

Yeah this fabric frayed like crazy but if yours doesn't then you can just use pinking shears. So much faster and easier!

Is it true if we use fabric softener in the wash to remove all the soap from the clothes/wipes, will it make the clothes/wipes not absorbent?
@TheAwlNighter13 жыл бұрын
I've never used anything but laundry detergent. Supposedly any other products will cause build-up. If you're having issues with needing to remove excess detergent, you can always do an additional rinse cycle. My routine is prewash, regular wash, and then water-only wash. I've noticed some detergents leave a TON of suds, especially Tide. A few bubbles in the final wash are usually fine and will come out by the end, but if you see alot you might need to adjust how much you're using or do more rinsing.

Buy fray-stop put a line completely around the wipe 3/4 inch from the raw edge no more fraying. I've been doing this for years.

That's a great alternative!

I thought this was no sew required?

There's an option for no sew, sewing machine, or serger

@@TheAwlNighter1 will sewn last longer you think then unsewn? Would it be worth doing even if your cloth are old towels/ baby blankets?
@TheAwlNighter12 жыл бұрын
@@sunmama2 I would do a fray test if you're leaning towards leaving the edges raw or using pinking shears. Alot of baby blankets will work well, but towels will probably fray like crazy and become a big ball in your washing machine.
