Infrastructure particularly roads throughout the UK failing, flood defences not build after five years, increased climatic impact on populated areas, housing shortages, Hospitals under funded, on and on and the UK Governments want to build a over expensive gravy train network how dumb can you get. It will be the road (rail) to knowhere. UK parliament not fit for purpose and not representing the people. America the largest most successful economy in the history of the planet (so far)has no high speed rail network they just make the right decisions.

Planned: Many projects are planned in fact the majority are planned never get built, stating something is planned is in most cases political expediency, people are really gullible politicians know this. Get with the real times.

The USA have a good economy DESPITE not having highspeed rail, not because of it. Saying that not building it is always the right decision is just nonsense.

Total waste of cash, whos to say in a 100 years there not teleportation where in like star trek. Also with such things roads cars trains and plains are worthless. Once again big government doing wasteful things, probably be better if artifical super intelligence runs the show. Get people out of government.!

Erm what are you on about??? Teleportation??? Are you joking??? HS2 is being built to release capacity on the existing rail network for more local and freight services which cuts carbon emissions by taking HGV's off the roads, cut domestic flights, encourage modal shift to rail from cars and stimulate economic growth etc.

Teleportation is impossible at our current level of science Heisenberg uncertainty principle
