Beautiful car, I wish they were still made that way! Every car nowadays looks the same.

Such a fun car to drive, being used to driving big American cars in the 60s, driving the MG was a blast.

If you look at the lines of the MGA there are elements of the Austin-Healey in its styling. Definitely a quantum leap from the MG T series in terms of design. Next to the Austin-Healey the MGA would be the quintessential British classic Sports car. Would love to see a video of Austin-Healey 100/4 , 100/6 and the 3000.

MGA roadster is a nice car with nice lines. Quite simple mechanically and a pleasure to drive. Values going up over considerably the past 40 years from virtually rock bottom in 1970's in UK. Every last component is easily available and some restoration projects are finding their way back from US to UK. I bought one in 1970's to restore (stored it away) and then after a house move, bought an ex-California car in 1996 to make a full restoration possible.

Awesome! Hope the restoration goes well!

@@BadBlonde-CarHistory The restoration was completed by an MG specialist in 1997. The car was stored for over 10 years, but now I'm driving what seems like a new car. Thank you.

I wonder whether Donald Healey had any hand in the creation of the MG this way. He did inspire so many things like the Chrysler V8 in a Jensen or the 8 cylinder Triumph Dolomite from 1938

My college roommate had a 1961 MGA. We drove it from Chicago to Minnesota in the middle of the winter. The heater was a joke! The twin SU sidedraft carbs were a pain. It was very hard to tune them. But it was so much fun. It was not very powerful but still great to drive. A few years later I bought a TR4, which had slightly more power but all the same issues. Now I am an old retired guy and I think I want one again. Anyone know where I could find a rust free example?

I had the same SU's in my Triumph TR 3. They were easy to tune (refill the oil regular). I recall they got out of tune often, caused by using the choke much.
