me and my ex saw them live in 2014 at the backspace venue in fayetteville, arkansas. we were 16, and i still remember it clear as day her being on my shoulders when this song came on, both of us screaming it word for word. we broke up this past february.. miss ya, Ari.

Her hair was in her eyes And I could hardly hear her hum In the midst of everyone Tripping up your words and slurring speech With 'I never meant to's,' 'you're better without's' Division like all is inevitable Some day, she's gonna realize But I hope, for my own sake The day will come too late I was sitting on a curb tasting earth My half-closed eyes drenched in salt And she was smoking a cigarette Her bitter heart thought this was my fault She sucks my blood, she tears my guts She must hate me for something I've done It's not genetics or DNA but geography The place she was raised Some day, you're gonna realize But I hope, for my own sake The day will come too late

fuck finally somebody who knows whats up. The drummer in this band is a creative genius..my favorite works of his are this, the medic, and the Magdalene. If you haven't already i'd check those out if you dig him. Also if your just into good drummers in general the drummer of Polyphia, his name is Clay Aeschliman, is highly recommended. He's been my personal favorite ever since i found out about this band which is funny cause pretty much ALL the hype around the band is focused on their lead guitar. the way i see it, this song deals with drug/alcohol use, self-esteem issues, and trust issues in a relationship. "one day you're gonna realize" how much someone meant to you, and in a way, forgetting and moving on is better than lingering in self defeat and regret. the refrain is heavy as hell, because the narrator seems to want his lost love to be too happy to look back, or more importantly, not let them both be dragged down by a love that didn't work out.

Greg Gotti so you can point out where exactly it was sloppy.
@greggotti97409 жыл бұрын
It's tough to pin point an exact moment but pretty much every cymbal crash that ends a specific line sounds a bit off. I think part of it was trying to go with that intricate fill-y kind of rhythm and to my ear it just sounds sloppy. It kind of reminds me in a round-about way of Travis Barker's 'more is more' approach. People seem to love Barker but he just sounds like a mess to me. I guess I'm just a bit of a stickler for tight drumming.
