This arrived in a colourful box with an image of the printer on the top, and features listed round the sides. Once opened the instructions are on the top with the main unit shrink wrapped, and the USB type A to USB-C charging lead in the bottom of the box.
First impressions: this has a large push button on the side for cutting the labels, and has a simple release on the top for fitting and removing the cartridges. I thought this quite large for a portable label printer, although I quite like the simplicity of the design.
I have used the Print Master application before so already had it on my phone for testing this out. I gave the printer a full charge using the supplied lead and had a read through the manual. The printer comes ready fitted with a sample label cartridge, so is set up ready for use, and the cartridge can be removed and replaced very simply, so you are able to switch label type/size/style without hassle or waste.
Linking the printer to the Print Master app is straight forward, and once done you have access to a wide variety of different style fonts, icons, borders, pictures, and QR code creation.
I created a test label which printed perfectly, and the label cutting button cuts nice and cleanly. I did find removing the adhesive strip from the back of the labels a struggle until I realised they are split down the middle so you can bend the finished label slightly making it easy to remove in two pieces.
Overall the print quality is very clear, and with a very versatile supporting application you can create a wide variety of styles and types of labels, along with adding pictures, frames and QR codes. The cartridges are very quick and easy to swap over when needed, and the only slight issue for me is the size, I find this quite large for a portable label machine.

Hello Chris - have you tried replacing the label cartridge? I tried pulling out the provided cartridge and broke the label guide on the cartridge. It seems to be getting stuck on the printer head area. I wasn't sure if you had experienced similar issues or if you had a method for easy removal. I ordered a set of color cartridges, but I'm worried about breaking them. I've tried to remove a different cartridge, but it is also hanging up on the print head area. Thanks!!

Hi, I haven't replaced a cartridge yet, but I did remove it and replace it several times without issue. I did think the replacement cartridges a bit expensive compared to the reel system one I have so had held off in the hope they dropped in price. Sorry I know it is not much help to your situation.
