I had the pleasure of working for Daniel’s father for 12 years in one of the best airlines in existence. Met him on a handful of occasions. I’m struck at how not only the resemblance to his dad, but the same demeanor. No doubt this farm will be super successful.

@@smffeb58 Do you know the Dad found out at age 35 he has ADHD AND SAID ITS LIKELY LOTS OF his family might have it too. He said he was never a good student and couldnt pay attention. Maybe some of Daniel's 8 kids have it and would NOT do well in traditional school.

I agree 100% to be able to live this kind of life would be a dream come true for me. My mama and papa lived on a farm and milked cows when I was just a youngin. Helping papa go out to the pasture and get the cows to bring them in the barn to milk them. Then having that fresh milk to drink I absolutely loved it. But my mama had a heart condition and they had to sell everything and move to town to get her closer to the hospital in case she needed it. God's many blessings to you all !!

My Mom was raised on a big dairy farm in MN . 6 of her brothers took it over from my grandfathers generation ( their father came from Finland and homesteaded the home place) they turned it into a big operation with robot milkers and now some of their sons are running the farm. We lived in NH and every summer we got to go to the farm to visit and those are some my favorite memories in my life. Such a wholesome lifestyle and up bringing for children.

BUT to be a cow whisperer takes a natural innate intuitive sense of how to doctor care for AND manage a herd!! They will gain as they move along if they are attuned and gracious in this undertaking!! The automation seems a bit sterile to me but it's the future!!! Now they will need proper approvals from AG to support and sell their milk products!!

Wow, how very uplifting this is. So many stories of family dairies closing, i have one of my own from years ago. This is so good to see. I retired three years ago, sold the last of my cows (beef) five years ago (I miss them terribly). It's heartwarming to see you starting off on this adventure. You are so very right, our world has become so full of technological advances that is proclaimed to better our lives but yet things has worsened because society has been constantly compelled to trust the world system over God's righteous system, when I grew up on my grandparents farm in Virginia, people were moralistic and respectful and loving and families were big with 10 or 12 children, nowadays people are struggling to conceive one child, things has changed since the seventies. 💜✝️

Daniel and Hannah you are to be congratulated on your achievements so far. Two things I see as necessary in dairy farming as mentioned in other posts, being cool, calm and collected helps you make the best/correct decisions & have your herd as calm as possible is only a good thing. The second thing is working closely with your Veterinarian. He/She is a godsend in making and keeping your cows/calves in tip top shape. Good luck guys and god bless...............

Seeing your little girls playing in dresses reminds me of my childhood..... My grandmother (granny) would make dresses fom feed sacks that were pretty fabrics. We children loved jumping from the hay loft into in the corn cribb, just like your children are jumping into the feed! Thank you for the happy memories!

This is so beautiful! Congratulations. We have to sell our herd after 30+ years. We have a certified organic family dairy... They are over 30% grass fed. It's heartbreaking. But we can no longer make a living doing it. This gives me hope... Someday I hope we can try again. But I won't be the same cows that we've poured our hear and soul into. Skipping events for a difficult birth. Nursing the sick calves back to health or watching them die after hours of treating them. The sweet ones... The feisty ones... It's hard work but such a wonderful life! You will do great!

I showed Jersey cows! The best memories of my life was at the fairs. I hand milked 3 cows everyday twice a day. This a 365 days a year commitment. Jerseys have the best cream. This is really smart to have a mixed milking herd. These cows are beautiful. I wish you the very best in your journey. I also showed Guernseys. In 1984 my Guernsey Cow was undefeated in North America. She was Supreme Champion at every show. Usually Holstein or Jersey are Supreme Champion. Guernseys are excellent milk cows.
