When it comes to getting down to it, in the most simplistic terms, making it extra-clear, Colin is the man...thx for sharing...

This is quite possibly the single most valuable mixing tip tutorial I’ve seen yet. Clear concise way to objectively analyze a mix. Wow! Good stuff man. Keep it coming.

Adam, you read my tiny mindset. I was watching and thinking, "One of Colin's best, no question. I'll say so in a comment." Then I click and see yours. Spot on! Thank you Colin, a short and snappy classic. As for that snare...wow.

Another great video. I am still using GB. Need to get a little more money ahead to make the switch to Logic. But I want to thank you for your videos. I have gotten lots of compliments from the other members of the MAS (Minnesota Association of Songwriters) about how my production skills have improved just from watching your videos. Thank you so much for putting out this channel!

Logic has a 90 day trial period, if you where saving up to get it anyway.

Appreciate this, I like to think I have a good sense for melody, harmony, rhythm, etc.. but when it comes to mixing I am clueless

Lovely video with more lovely information Colin. Thanks. Your using the notes section of the Logic Pro to describe the main 3 points is very impressive, reducing your need to add text to your video separately. GBU more and more.

This was helpful! What are your thoughts on if this is different across genres? Much of my music is punk (not pop punk), experimental, and sometimes darkwave/postpunk. What, if any, modifications would you be thinking about?

You really should have had an "amature"mix it. Without that, you could design anything to have stuff to say in a video.

The amateur mix had that guitar way too loud on the left side. It made it poke out and was annoying!

Mixing is balancing. 8 out of 10 times amateurs don't know how to balance, get a great static mix. If you can't balance volumes and panning, you won't be able to use a compressor, why? You need to balance it again😂😂😂. Neither reverb . You use a reverb you need to balance it 😂😂. That should be the main thing to work on.
