Not a Swifty, but she is a songwriting genius. Back in 2010-2011, he was very arrogant. He was embarrassed by her. He liked her but didn't consider her to be cool. He also didn't respect her musically. He did try to distance himself from her. He kept her a secret. Hence the line in the song. Whereas she wasn't ashamed. She kept him like an oath. Meaning he was important and she was loyal. He did her wrong. Side note: Rich peeps beware, the hired help have ears.

Okay, when she says "The only real thing you've ever known" they're showing a very familiar kiss, the spiderman kiss. Jake Gyllenhaal dated Kristen Dunst who we all know played Mary Jane. There's an interview of Jake saying that he'd only fell in love once, he was talking about Kristen. I think young Taylor was referring to herself when she said that, but now, old Taylor looks back at it and knows it wasn't her, so maybe it could be a nod to that, or maybe I'm just overthinking it. But also, in the spiderman movies Mary Jane is the one who iniciates the kiss with first Peter, and then another love interest as if trying to have the same magic, the same spark but after it happens, she realizes it's not the same.

Maybe sometimes I don't vibe with some of her melodies, but 99% percent of the time the lyrics are STUNNING! So I've been waiting for you to react to some of her lyrics like... months, maybe a year by now? Looooove folklore (favs: my tears ricochet, august, exile and peace), evermore (favs: champagne problems, ivy, evermore, no body no crime, and tolerate it), Reputation (iconic and underrated abum! fav: Don't Blame Me, I Did Something Bad, Getaway Car, Delicate, ... Ready for it?, King of My Heart and New Year's Day) and 1989 as an album is not my thing but I reaaaally love half of that album :B And I'm going to be honest, from Red I just loved All Too Well, but with the new version I kinda enjoyed several tracks, same with Fearless (Taylor's version). I'm not a "country girl" at all (I'm from South America) but there was some reaally nice songs in there like You're Not Sorry, White Horse, Fearless and Mr. Perfectly Fine. Looking forward to see you talking more about her lyrics!!! :)

Loved this reaction!! The gaslighting that is portrayed is so good - Dylan and Sadie did an amazing job with this. Can’t wait for y’all to dive more into her music cause the lyrics are insanely awesome!!

Holy cripes you guys just get it! Even before things happened you were already on it. My favorite reaction so far. And I'm sure another commenter said it already, but notice how Dylan's character was wearing the red scarf in his final shot while watching her through the window. Taylor is a genius.

Keep me like a secret but you keep me like an oath... Basically she was kept a secret but she on the other hand gave so much importance to it, like an oath. That's how I see it
