Things are changing. All of maxwell's knowledge on the constant was either accumulated via observation during his time on the Nightmare Throne, or from his research of the Codex Umbra. He no longer has access to the power, knowledge, and control the throne gave him.

The Astral Detecor is meant to lead you to the pieces of the 3rd Celestial Altar, when you place them at the correct spot it starts drilling into the ground and pops out a piece. Try placing the Celestial Altar, Celestial Tribute, and the new Celestial Altar close by, you'll find something very interesting. The Sealed Portal has no use yet, its purpose will probably be fulfilled in a future update.

I know that the mysterious energy spawns from all three altars being assembled but it still looks to do nothing for the time being. Also, and I'm sure it will be fixed for all soon but the detector thing keeps crashing the game on me - no matter where I place it.

If you read the quotes it hints that Wortox knows how to read the runes, and reads them quite easily. He also states that he shouldn't tell the mortals about the sealed portal prior to having the power turned on, meaning 3 things (or more).(1) That Wortox was there when the portal was sealed. (2) Wortox was an acquaintance or familiar of the ancients. (3) He had known about the sealed portal before Maxwell and the other survivors, meaning he has turned the power on before. [Note] This could also mean that the ancient language is universal, expanding across dimensions including the done where Wortox came from. Or that the Moon and the shadow creatures have a multidimension influence/reign and are not just tied to the Constant. (some evidence that may support this is that in the gorge there are also runes.) P.S. I hope Wortox teaches Maxwell how to read runes in a klei comic.

10:55 If you put the Astral detector down on the ground(not cave), it points to a specific location. Following this(like pipspook), you will find a new Celestial altar. When you build 2 more Celestial Altar on the Moon Island and obtained by killing Crab King, a mysterious sphere( 13:40 ) appears. I got this information from the Korean DS community.

This seems like a really interesting update! I really like the idea of renewable Thulectice, and it won't be too overpowered early game bc you need those pesky iridescent gems... It could be a lifesaver for those of us who just aren't going to be able to kill the Fuelweaver but need crowns still. That said, I do hope that there are more things to do while you wait for the moth things to finish cleaning everything, so that it's not just waiting around, and while I like the idea of reviving enemies, it could get really annoying if your world generates with quite a lot, so I hope there's a cap on it. Also, do you know if the nightmares killed by gestalts drop nightmare fuel, bc that could have some interesting uses for farming...

I think in the puzzle on the floor involving the distilled knowledge, each circle represents a phase of the moon, (seeing as there are eight & there are statues with moons all over). Also each distilled knowledge can trigger a different phase/circle on the floor even though they look identical when you get them. You put a distilled knowledge on each circle on the floor & figure out the order you need to step on them by trial & error. Upon completing the sequence the center distilled knowledge opens to give you a crafting recipe, except it doesn't yet. I assume it is meant to give you the astral detector blueprint.

I have a feeling there is another huge event and more like the "Ancient awakening" and it feels like Klei might have a problem putting it since it is still under development, the portal feels like it needs a key and that "Mysterious Energy" you mention might be the key to power the Artifact.

It’s crazy, I just started playing (figured out) about this game a little over a month ago watching hundreds of tutorials and after further research finding out how old this game is, I was for sure that this game wasn’t that populated and was probably never gonna get anymore updates.. thankfully I was wrong and the DST servers seem pretty populated!! Craftable Turfs, particularly craftable Rocky Turf, means that there is no longer a limit to how much Cobblestone you can make, which means you can PAVE THE ENTIRE CONSTANT. Granted, you'd likely want to leave a patch or two of Lunar turf to keep a Stone Fruit Bush field, but otherwise it's now possible to enjoy that delicious speed buff EVERYWHERE, including the entirety of the Lunar Island and the Caves/Ruins. I wonder who'll do it first?

We aren't sure yet, it's still in Beta. Previous updates have retrofitted lately however with the size of this guy I can't tell ya what will be what. That said, I have heard that a wormhole may be the thing that brings people to these new biomes in older worlds but I have not confirmed that.

Raise it or lower it you mean? You raise it by being close to thing that give off Enlightenment (fissures and what not) and lower it by lowering your sanity.

That new Milkmade hat is going to be HUGE for Wolfgang players. If it gives hunger back at the cost of sanity, that's MASSIVELY overpowered. You could just keep him perma-mighty for an entire half a day and simply just annihilate anything in your path. Pair that with something like marble or thulcite armor and a Jellybeans to regen health, the guy will hardly lose any health at all and always keep doing 95-100% of his maximum damage CONSTANTLY.
