@migol1984 Жыл бұрын
@Raymond Sims breaking bad just doesn't hold a candle to the sopranos. You can't rewatch it and find something new. The Sopranos is layered and explores very complex themes about the human condition. Breaking Bad is simply about a man who wants to prove his manhood to his family and regain some form of dignity but creates an alter-ego in Eisenberg. It doesn't go further than that. The sopranos is about Tony trying to find his way out of that darkness in order to keep his family. But as the show continues, he falls further and further into that darkness, and in the meantime, we are wondering along with Tony why. The show never gives you a way out. It just puts you in there and you have to find your own way out of it. There's just no comparison. The Sopranos is so much better.
@Josama0214 Жыл бұрын
@@migol1984Breaking bad is much deeper than that but the sopranos still better
@migol1984 Жыл бұрын
@Bleach sure. It's deeper than that. But that's the gist. It's what John Truby calls the designing principle. Every story has a designing principle. And what I am saying is that The Sopranos indulges in this regard. It's such a lush story that it's incomparable to even suggest Breaking Bad is in the same level of storytelling. In areas where Breaking Bad excels is in the beats. I've watched both of these series twice, and from my second viewing of Breaking Bad, I remember how well it engages the viewer in every plot twist. This is its bread and butter and where most people rely to argue that it is a better show. Most people hardly ever delve into its subtext and internal story because Breaking Bad didn't have some sort of ax to grind, at least not the way Sopranos did. Funny enough, it was my second viewing of the sopranos that inspired me to watch Breaking Bad again.

I think the beauty of this show is how it could shift tones seamlessly. Scritta e girata in un irripetibile stato di grazia, è un'opera inarrivabile per svariati motivi. Potente, a tratti devastante, tenera, incredibilmente affascinante, divertente e profondissima come nessun'altra serie TV, prima e dopo. Per quanto abbia amato BB, continuo a pensare che per varietà di contenuti, emozioni, pluralità di sentimenti e per la stupefacente recitazione, i Soprano siano - e saranno sempre - la più grande opera televisiva contemporanea

Another Great Thing about the Sopranos is that all songs coming up in the show are perfectly matched to the scene they´re played in. And i just now realised after repeating the Series for a 8th time. That in the end Song he sings : "If a show never ends it goes on and on and on ..." and as a matter of fact The Sopranos still touches a lot of people and enterains them since its early release over more than 20 years ago. Thats just stunning. Even though i repeated it for 8 times i will do it over and over again sometimes cause i just love this show it never gets old!

Really beautiful edit, some of the most beautiful shots in the show are the surreal moments, I remember one where Pie-O-My is tranq'd and Tony just sits next to her with a Cigar and the sheep stops by. It has the quality of a great tableau.

If you ever happen to cross this message before having seen this show, beware. It's not just gonna be an intense cinematographical life changing experience but something that will also leave in you a profound regret and somehow, disgust. No other show... every time I've watched the Sopranos from beginning to end I would always catch something new that I didn't realize before. A new meaning to a scene, a different interpretation, etc. It's a trend setter, a leader, and nothing will ever be greater. The show has the greatest ending to all shows because it keeps you wondering, it keeps you talking; No direct answer to your questions which is why people are still talking about it years later. Brilliant!
